At first I thought it's the two cops in the hospital Gordon's talking about. Kept forgetting he killed Wuertz

Still trying to figure out who the 5+2 cops are... So annoying; maybe Gordon just s*cks at maths, IDK *headesk*

You're right of course. WTF, self... all confuddled.

Did anyone figure it out, though? I've seen discussions, but...nothing. (Does Batman know? lol)

I don't think we ever did. Someone even asked Nolan in the BD community livechat thingy and he refused to divulge, saying that he would "answer one day, but today is not that day." :lmao:

Sneaky little bugger.

Personally I've determined that the "two cops" are the ones Joker killed in the hospital. Harvey is on his rampage for only a few hours, and it was Wuertz's day off so the GPD wouldn't necessarily notice his absence during that time, especially since the entire city was emptying. Ramirez was only knocked out less than 30 minutes when Gordon (quite busy, obviously) got the call from Dent. So he wouldn't necessarily know she was missing, especially if she woke up and went back to work pretending nothing had happened. :o

Nooooooo! Godd**nit, Nolan. ...Probably doesn't know it, either, and refuses to admit it! Just kidding :funny: But it's not really a minor detail, is it? People are dead and Batman should know, in case someone asks.

Oh, you think it's the cops in the hospital? It makes so much sense, you know?

But after a while nothing made sense anymore (thought too hard about it, I guess). Because of the Joker's threat re hospital and after the clip with Engel I figured they knew it was him and not Dent. But Dent could've escaped on his own - and killed the cops, and the Joker's not always around when things go BOOM or are supposed to. I hope Gordon's talking about the cops at the hospital. I'm just surprised that no one saw the Joker leaving; he's so hard to miss :woot: Guess they'll have to question the hostages first to find out. ...But what about the bartender? Dead? Called the cops and no one's home? So confused now.

Looks like it's possible Gordon doesn't know the actual body count. Maybe?:o

Maybe Gordon took a couple of cops too -- you know, to keep his little I'm dead sham going :o

The two cops are Wuertz and Ramirez. Two-Face killed Wuertz and knocked Ramirez out leaving her MIA and at the time assumed dead. The real question is who the last person Dent killed was. We have the two cops, Maroni and his driver. Who was the last guy?

Until Dent called him, Gordon fully believed that Dent was one of Joker's hostages. That part is not in question. They don't know that Joker was IN the hospital turning him to begin with. They know he was at the hospital (otherwise how could he have gotten that bus full of people), but they don't know he was in there talking with Dent. Dent doesn't divulge that Joker spoke to him either, he just said that Joker was right. So IMO, the "two cops" being the ones at the hospital is pretty definite.

It's likely that Dent grabbed the bartender the same way he did Maroni's bodyguard. We don't know their fates, but he doesn't kill people without the coin flip telling him to, so he probably just pistol-whipped them.

Harvey Dent himself seems like the most plausible answer.

I forgot about the hospital cops. Yes, them plus Maroni and his driver plus Dent would make five dead people.

Did Gordon know Wuertz was corrupt? If not, he might have been aware Wuertz was dead but hadn't yet realized Dent was responsible.

When Dent called Gordon and said, "Harvey? Where is my family."

One of the swat looks over at Gordon as if to say, "WTF??!"

Small, but just saying, maybe it will be harder to cover up.
that it will. people talk.

Dent himself.

Gordon never specifically states Dent killed anyone, he just says "5 people dead". I think he is including Dent in that.

There are quite a few potential ways to look at it realy....

Maroni.
Maroni's driver.
Maroni's bodygaurd. (He's not dead...)
The Bartender (He's not dead either...)
Officer Davis.
Officer Otherguy.
Wertz.
Ramirez.

Here's something my roommate noticed last night....I don't know if it's been mentioned, but you know the bat-radar device? You know, with the cell phones, and all that?

If Bats made it with the intention of only being used by Lucius Fox, why are there dozens of keyboards on it???? How many can one man need?

I had no answer to that one!

Yeah, I agree with that. In a way he was also a victim of Two-Face. Plus Batman did actually kill him, unintentionally or not.

Who said that control panel was made specifically for the sonar tech? It could have had a different application/purpose until Bruce modified it for his use...

The keyboards flip out and it converts to a space ship.:awesome:

I always assumed that they were for Lucius to be able to move to different areas of the sonar screens and still be able to type. I'd think that it would be difficult to remain in one spot and see everything with a massive and complex setup like that.

Yeah, exactly.

Still debating the Dent / 5 Dead thing, eh? :cwink:

As stated before by yours truly, I believe the 5 dead are the ones Joker killed - Judge Surillo, Commissioner Loeb, Rachel Dawes & the 2 cops at "8th & Orchard". It's in my opinion that they want to pin these deaths on Batman not taking off his mask instead of having the public think that no public defender is safe. It's to keep their faith in Gotham City while instilling their fears in Batman instead of vice versa.

No one is going to know or even be right (even me) until Nolan reveals what the answer is. So we'll all call it a draw!

That's true....We may never know.

So I'm going to pick the most logical 5.

Snoopy.
The Grinch.
Mini-Me.
Dolly Parton.
And Bruno Tonioli.

This doesn't make much sense. The Joker killed those people days before Dent went on his killing spree, so the public already knows that no public official is safe. Add in the fact that the Joker sent DNA evidence to the cops that implied he was going to kill Surillo and Loeb, the Joker cards at Surillo's murder scene, and the Joker call to the police to tell them about the two dead cops. There are way too many witnesses in the police force to shift the blame to Batman.

The Batman's secret identity is The Joker.

DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUU!
