heh, got a new semi-smart phone, Lg 441g with 3g and 1.3 camera/video, first thing I did was make the Thor movie theme my ring tone, second made a Shield Wallpaper, 3rd made a Thunder-Clap my text alert lol

I know I'm a huge minority, but I'd rate Natalie Portman a 6/10. I don't even find her attractive. Never mind stunning

I can't even see WHY she'd be in Ragnarok, personally. There's just way too much going on to have that mess to add to it

So you don't have any problem with a male human scientist (Banner) being in the movie? But a female scientist (and an established one at that) is just too much?

Also, I think Jane's rather personal experience with an Infinity Stone in TDW could play into this movie nicely without her role seeming shoe-horned in. After all, we know that Ragnarok will at least partially set up IW. Maybe Thor and Co. need the help of someone who's experienced what it's like to have an Infinity Stone inside them?

Does Jane need a massive role in this film? No, but you can still make her important and useful enough to be a relevant character.

As for the usual "they fell in love too quickly" argument. Kenneth Branagh literally says in the movie's director commentary that his intention was for their romance to be nothing more than affection, with the possibility of something more substantial in the future. Kevin Feige also shared this snetiment. They never said "I love you" in the movie. They just shared a kiss. I don't see how that translates to a "big, epic love story".

So anyone who feels that they were "in love" in Thor 1 is directly disagreeing with Feige and Branagh.

I never thought they were in love straight away, to think otherwise is not concentrating on the movie IMO. There an instant attraction between them, yes, and it was obvious they would fall in love at some point, but they never where in the first movie for me. So nothing was too quick in my eyes.

I would rather have Herc and BRB than Hulk to tell you the truth.
Banner has powers where as Jane doesn't. I don't mind Jane, but it's time everything moved on.
The comics had her with Thor for years off and on before the last Ragnarok and by that time they went their own ways for the most part.

Edit: you have to keep in mind all the MCU stories are abbreviated versions of the originals. Example: Age of Ultron was a mix of the Ultron story AND the Disassembled arc which happened just before Civil War

Ragnarok is a huge story for Thor with A LOT of characters. A lot of characters with powers. Hulk has powers, and MAY be acceptable if the Hulk takes the role of another character from the "Ragnarok" arc. His complaint is completely reasonable.

They CAN make her an important character, but given the scope of the film I understand how one may think it's unnecessary.

I know many people didn't like TDW but for me it's one of the most enjoyable CBMs,I just like watching the movie. Hel,if people can say that worse received movies like ASM2 and MoS are great CBMs then I can shamelessly say I love Thor 2.
THANK YOU! I love TDW, I think it's a gem and easily Marvel Studio's most underrated film.

I'm already more excited for this than CA:Civil War! With Hulk in, I think we should definitely expect some other heavy-duty power houses like The Executioner, Mangog, Ulik, or even Beta Ray Bill!
The only movie I'm more excited for is Infinity War. This movie is shaping up to be absolutely epic.

I think MoS is a pretty solid movie and TDW is an alright movie but would rather watch TDW anytime than ASM2. Tom saves the movie for me.

But the real question is which theme, Doyle's or Tyler's? :p

Honestly, I think they should end the Jane relationship and move forward with Sif.

I can't say I agree with you here. Jane, at least in the MCU so far, is an integral part of the Thor universe. to just drop that character would be a waste of great potential

I don't think you'll find much disagreement there lol

Well it depends. Thor has had many loves and Sif is his greatest but Jane is just as much a part of his story. They've established Jane in the MCU and they owe to fans to bring her story to a satisfactory conclusion. I, for one, would be pissed if they abruptly drop Thor and Jane's relationship arc just to capitulate to a vocal group of complainers on the Internet. I loved their chemistry in the first film. Elevate the romance don't discard it.

Both scores are fantastic but I have to give the nod to Tyler. His themes like Into Eternity were sublime and his anthem for Thor surged with so much power. I wish there was a way to marry the two scores somehow.

Wouldn't be the first time an MCU character was casually discarded.

The only characters I can think of are from The Incredible Hulk which never got a sequel. However, Thunderbolt Ross is finally coming back in Civil War. I imagine if they ever make a Hulk 2 we'd see some of those characters return. Not the same situation at all as an ongoing franchise like Thor.

can you give examples please, because outside of the Hulk franchise I have know idea who you could possible mean

Jane in the mcu has been used to introduce thor to humanity. She has fulfilled that purpose and now isn't that interesting.
The problem with sif is that why would thor spend so much time protecting earth when he has a warrior goddess waiting at home. Which might not be such an issue if iw1&2 are going to be his last two films for a while.

Ditching Jane and replacing her with Sif would just be horrible IMO. Not only has Thor shown precisely zero romantic interest in Sif thus far, but it would also turn her effectively into a rebound girl. Do we really want to see that?

AoU pretty much confirmed that Thor and Jane are still extremely close, so I can't see them discarding it just to satisfy a few ******** shippers lol.

I'd still prefer Thor to end up with Sif. Don't know if that's possible for now.
