Villains with complexity to them are far more interesting to watch. I'm glad they plan to continue that.

Just as people who are antisocial personalities typed as psychopaths are complex. Loki is a psychopath. Adding complexity doesn't change that lol. It just explains it, explains his trauma, layers and maladaptive delusions and slights he experiences that have lead him to his ways.

I agree though. But he kills without remorse, acts without remorse and manipulates, he's a psychopath. Albiet an interesting one, he is a psychopath (yes, they can experience emotions, especially when they are projected and self validating..psychopathy and sociopathy is often missunderstood and illdefined).

Thor has shielded himself from a *lot* of stuff via either hammer parry or hammer spinning. I think the only thing to date to actually overcome his blocking was Kurse, via his "screw you Hulk" strength.

Well Thor didn't have Mjolnir while fighting Kurse.

I really like that shot of Valkyrie jumping from that back of the Commodore.

I've always wondered how "superhuman" she's going to look in the film, I hope she's portrayed well above the likes of Gamora, Drax, and Captain America.

Do you think she will be?

Do you think she will be?

From what we've seen I don't know, but given how Taiki and Tessa go on and on about how powerful she is I hope so.

Besides, she is helping to fight Hela, Surtur, and possible Fenris not too mention she was a part of Odin's Seal team 6.

I wish there is a team fight scene between hela/skurge/fenris/surtur vs thor/loki/valkyrie/hulk like in civil war

I see the idea but that would be a very one-sided battle. The villains would KO and stomp the heroes.

Of course they are. Never said they aren't.

I would think most Asgardians would be very powerful, the movies just don't a very good job of demonstrating the power scales of the non-human characters. I'm reminded of people being surprised Gamora was strong enough to lift up that giant cannon in Guardians 2 since there isn't a lot in the first movie to indicate she has super strength.

Bigger and more detailed version of the IMAX poster. I like it. Following with the thread, yellow and green from the previous posters... Seeing it like this if feels much more striking.

According to Slash Film.
Midgard Serpent

Concept art also seemed to hint at the presence of Midgard serpents somewhere in the movie as well. In the comics, the Midgard serpent is a massive sentient animal that is actually the offspring of Loki and the Frost Giant descendant and sorceress Angerboda. Known by the name Jormungand, the creature was banished from Asgard by Odin, only to grow bigger and become so big that it could wrap itself around a planet. We’re not sure if we’ll see Midgard serpents used that way if they end up in the movie, but they could very well be a trick Hela has up her sleeve, especially since we’ve already seen Fenris Wolf fighting Hulk in the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, another one of Loki’s children that he had with Angerboda in the comics.

That's probably why they need Loki. The only way to win this one is to be a bit back-stabby.

Noticed something else in the TV Spot. At 0.25 in the distance and to the right one can see the Grandmaster's tower with the giants heads of what we always presumed we're the gladiatorial champions. This time the image shows a better look at Beta Ray Bill's face sculpture. It's clearly him, the horse face, the helmet and even that typical mouth and teeth of the horse face shaped alien. There's also a better look at Bi Beast and Ares. There's also a 4th head sculpture but it's on the side and harder to figure out.

I liked the Civil War IMAX one better. This is one of the few posters for this movie I haven't liked.

Yeah, hopefully we see her show her power off in action and it is something special.

Sorry for the triple post but i gotta post this gigantic piece of advertisement from a movie theatre in Berlin, Germany. Release date on October 31st. Oh and there's no missing that piece of marketing. :woot:

I wonder why though, it can't be that hard Sony, Fox, and Warner Brothers (DC) have no problem doing it.

Haha I love these kinds of huge building wall size adverts.

There's also a better/brighter version of this banner.

I hope Hemsworth does the full press tour for Ragnarok. He skipped most of the promotional appearances for TDW, which might have impacted its box office somewhat. Hiddleston pulled most of the weight on that one, solidifying the impression some have that Loki is more prominent than Thor in this franchise.

That's interesting, I didn't know that. I imagine Hemsworth will definitely do the full press tour this time as he seems a lot more on board with this version of Thor and clearly gets on extremely well with Waititi. He seems super pumped about Ragnarok which is nice to see.

Just now bought my 2 IMAX tickets for the Thor Ragnarok premiere... October 27th over here. More than half(212) of the 421 seats available for my showing are already sold. Can't wait!
