Well, Darcy isn't going to be in this movie, so the humor isn't going to be outlandish and stupid.

Yeah, Several of us translated the runes on the one tablet when the First Thor was about to come out HD. That's why I was saying early on I hope we see RUNE-Thor. He was/is more powerful than Odin ever was.
Rune Thor was so powerful he stopped the Ragnarok Cycle, and Those who sit above in shadow from feeding on Asgard and the nine realms' demise
I think it is astonishing how Marvel had laid so much ground for future movies to pick up on. Even though they we're "just" relics in Odin's safe and something for the fans at first. But it still is amazing how some of those things are coming to fruition.

Awesome that you guys went that deep and found it was related to "Those Who Sit Above in Shadow". I think we could see some easter eggs related to this particular subject in a way like Doctor Strange introduced the staff of the "Living Tribunal"... Something small. And they do take some liberties with a lot of stuff and change the origin and the reason for some things... I personally don't think we're gonna delve deep in these particular subjects because it would just be way to confusing for audiences. It would be too many layers of threats/storylines imo.

In relation to Rune King Thor. I think the possibility of something like that happening in this movie is none. On the other hand i feel that Odin can actually die on this movie, it would make sense, and with that having Thor inherit the Odin Force. I don't know if they are gonna follow that route but it surely is possible and it would be awesome to finally see King Thor.

BUT what was used to power Bi-Frost BEFORE Asgard took possession of the Tesseract hmmmm? ;) Odin doesn't reveal EVERYTHING as we've seen time and again.

I don't think the Tesseract does power the Bifrost, that seems to be some kind of unexplained Asgardian technology. The Tesseract was seemingly on Earth for hundreds (or even thousands) of years being protected by certain people who knew it was some kind of important relic until the Red Skull stole it at the beginning of TFA. Then of course Shield got their hands on it until Loki stole it from them and it eventually ended up back on Asgard when Thor took it at the end of The Avengers. So if it indeed powers the Bifrost, then how did the Asgardians continue to use the Bifrost during the centuries the Tesseract was on Earth?

It seems to be able to open portals to anywhere in space (or potentially other dimensions) which is why Thor used it to return himself and Loki to Asgard, the Bifrost being broken at the time. By TDW, the Bifrost seemed to have been fixed and the Tesseract was under lock down in Odin's vault according to Volstagg.

Loki did say "you don't have A tesseract yet" in Avengers. Suggesting there ARE more than one of at least the Tesseract.

Are you referring to the scene between Loki and The Other in TFA? I just rewatched it with subtitles to check I wasn't going mad, but Loki definitely says, "You don't have the Tesseract yet." Considering the source of it's power is the Space Stone, I highly doubt there's more lurking around. :oldrazz:

Well to get the Odinforce Thor had to go through three trials Odin did to prove himself basically. I don't think those will be on the screen considering what they are. I was surprised the trials made it to the comics actually.
Yeah in some way I see Odin Dieing too, hope it's more like in the comics where he infuses himself with all kinds of energy and makes himself a missile at Surtur

You know, talking of the Tesseract, loads of people are speculating whether Hela may have the soul stone, but everyone seems to have forgotten that last we know the Tesseract is still sitting in Odin's vault. So if Hela has really taken control of Asgard by the beginning of Ragnarok (which seems to make sense considering Odin, Thor and Loki are all on Earth), doesn't that mean she has access to the space stone? I remember Black Widow saying in TA that the Tesseract has enough potential energy to wipe out the planet, so could that be how Hela causes such massive amounts of destruction in Ragnarok?

Interesting...

One of the prequel comics that suggests the Asgardians rebuilt Heimdal's observatory around the Tesseract power not the tesseract itself. I THINK it was the Dark world prequel.

I swear that one scene I hear "A Tesseract" lol maybe it''s because I want Red Skull to be back making his own. lol

I can actually see her having it. I mean it would seem that a stone like that would be in better hands to someone like Adam Warlock.
The animated Hulk vs Thor movie had her more alittle heroic. She was a caretaker for those who didn't die in battle and weren't worthy of Valhalla because of it.

Yep, they used the power of the Tesseract to repair the Bifrost, but it didn't power it originally. From what I can tell it originally appears to have been powered by some unexplained Asgardian technology.

I still think Asgard is definitely on a different dimensional plane to Earth. I'm also pretty sure that Hel is canonically on a different dimensional plane to Asgard in the comics, Thor has referred to it as 'the dread dimension of death', or something along those lines.

Which one, the Tesseract or the Soul Stone? Imagine she has both! :woo:

Yeah, Hela hasn't always been totally villainous in the comics either. She once brought Sif back to life because she was so impressed with Thor's nobility when he offered to trade his life for hers.

The Soul stone. Well if you think about it, not ALL norsemen were warriors. Kids got sick and passed away, many were Farmers, Blacksmiths, woodworkers that didn't go raiding. Those people would end up in Hela's realm living a life they were at peace with.

I would like to see a Synder "Thor: Ragnarok"... could be a great dark movie and would fit to the story too.

LOL! Good joke.

Leave that talentless hack far away from any MCU property.

Honestly the whole "destroying the bifrost" thing feels like a tremendous waste of potential. Like the end of the first movie set that up like it was going to be a big deal. And then in TDW, they just fix it no biggie. They could have done some interesting stuff with that, but nope.

But that's TDW in a nutshell, wasted potential.

Unless Thanos turned him into a decorative window pane. Maybe Surtur is closer to Thanos.

I'm thinking they might superpower Thor if Odin ends up dying soon.

I, and some others, have been alluding to that possibility

I think it will, because the director says this will be the "funniest" Thor yet.

I'll wait for the DVD. :cwink:

Maybe that's how he eventually beats Hela. She succeeds in killing Odin who passes the Odin Force to Thor just before he bites it.

Nice try, but you should really work on your reading comprehension.

Wow, what a tragedy. I'm sure that will really devastate the box office.

There's been a lot of speculation regarding the future role of Thor, CA, and IM after IW. If Thor does get the Odin Force, they could go either way with bringing Thor back on the heels of IW.

I'm sure Ragnarok will be very 3 Stooges like as that's the kind of humor Waititi is known for. I'm just hoping Hela doesn't poke Hulk in the eye too hard....:whatever:

I can see Thor/Hemsworth coming back for another Thor. Hemsworth is the most active actor out of the 3. Thor is the role he is most known for and some of his other movies don't do well.

I can see Evans taking a break, didn't he say he wants to direct more?

RDJ will probably make cameos here and there for movies Iron Man/Stark fit in. I don't see the character fitting into Dr.Strange sequels, last GOTG, Captain Marvel,or any space related movie. Maybe Black Panther 2, Spider-Man 2,possibly Ant-Man 3.

The director didn't say that. Don't make stuff up.

The sarcasm emoji is this one :o

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the Odinforce isn't a thing in the MCU. We have no way of knowing how powerful Odin is, other than stripping Thor of his power.

Well i get where you are coming from with the "Odin Force". I also don't think/remember if it has been said in the movies... But the truth is that we have had the "Odin Sleep"(in a deleted scene from Thor) and that was part of Odin recovering/"restoring" his energy.

It's pretty much implied he is restoring the "Odin Force". Odin is simply the most powerful thing around. He doesn't need to go around presenting feats so we can accept he is that powerful. He just is. He's one of the most powerful beings in the MCU and even arguably the most powerful at this time. But i can understand that the "Odin Force" wouldn't necessarily be passed on to the next King of Asgard. There could be something tweaked for the MCU.

Loki says about Odin: "The most powerful being in the Nine Realms".

I know, I've seen this. Just am not sure if Odin's power being passed down is something we will see. We dont even know what his powers are. I hope we dive into seeing it finally Thor as well

The Nine Realms thing has always puzzled me. Like it seems that the Asgardians only take those nine places into account. Xander, the Dark Dimension, wherever the heck Thanos and his floating space throne is right now, etc. Do these places just not count or something?

The main theory is that these are all separate universes and Midgard is the realm that includes all of our universe, not just Earth. Xandar, etc. would be part of Midgard.

The Dark Dimension and other Doctor Strange type dimensions wouldn't count, though.
