That's not Mjolnir.

Looks like a new mace type Mjolnir in that concept art. It has the samr hand grip. Its longer tho. And based on the base of the weapon's head, it appears to be a mace similar in idea to these:

Frankly, Mjolnir has always looked a bit stubby and poorly fesigned to mean. If they extend the handle and mskr it more of a mace Ill be extremely happy. Plus it will just look better in combat than that fat headed hammer.

Yeh this trailer is super addictive and you don't really get tired of watching it either.
I have seen it a lot. And if you count the reactions of other people then it's crazy the amount of times i've watched it.

I guess i can't get enough of it.

When your inspirations are Big Trouble In Little China, Planet Hulk, and the visuals of Jack Kirby, there's a strong probability that the trailer will exude such enticement in watching.

I didn't read the last few pages but did anyone notice the Jack Kirby background surrounding the Grandmaster?

I think this teaser trailer shows that this movie is brimmed with new-found confidence, after the uneven and rather lackluster TDW that wasn't quite sure if it wanted to be dark or slap-stick. From the first moment on, Ragnarok holds your attention with Hela and never let up. I think it went from a movie I wasn't too sure about to one of the most anticipated movies of the year for me. Marvel is going to have another blockbuster in their hand for sure.

That's an interesting possibility.

I remember Hemsworth commented at one point that it's not a very practical weapon at all, really, and hard to use in combat. A bit clumsy, which I have no trouble imagining.

Not really sure what the inspiration for the original design was, tbh.

I would be ok with some sort of permanent re-design. That's a bold move and a departure from the traditional look, but it might be worth it.

Well the design of mjolnir that we have works good when Thor is throwing it at people and just clobbering people. When he is using it as a dead weight. Thats what a weapon like that would be ideal for. Just knocking the **** out of things and people. And I think that was Branagh's thinking when they designed it with the large head and shorter handle because that is largely how Thor used it in the first film. Especially in the Ice Giant battle. But when Thor fights Loki or has to use it against a sword or spear or any shafted weapon it just looks laughable. A longer mace like weapon with a medium size head would look good as a clobbering weapon but the longer handle and mace type head would also look better against swords and spears.

Hulk looked TMNT quality in the teaser, some of the soundstage sets/CGI were clearly noticeable. Thats ok though cause its still months away.

Not seeing that at all.

If anything it's the arena that needs some touching up, but not Hulk. I think the CGI looks spectacular here:

People are having a fine time but then somebody has to to "that guy".

At least the JL and WW trailers didn't give away the film in less than three minutes.

You see... We can all be whiny fanboys together now. Or... We can **** can this sort of nonsense because neither WB or Marvel Studios is paying any of our bills.

I thinl Spidey looks really good but Sony is unfortunately handling homecoming's marketing and it shows. The difference in editing between GotG,Thor and Spidey is quite noticeable.

That is a great shot. But there are others that do look like Hulk needs a bit more work to put it over the top.

I think people might not be accustomed to the brighter more vibrant colors. He looks a bit greener.

Except what you just posted had a filter added to it by whomever created it. This is the actual the shot from the trailer:

The Teaser Trailer for Thor Ragnarok on the Marvel Youtube channel has just crossed 10 million views in 16 hours. It's still going strong. Btw there's plenty of channels showing the Teaser Trailer and with many millions of views.

It would be interesting to know how much it has been seen everywhere. Youtube and all the social media... maybe something drops somewhere about it.

Over 34 million views on the Facebook video feed.

If you add all the Youtube channels then it's well over 50M by now. Around 60M i would say. Youtube + Facebook.

Also, when I went for a nap a few hours ago it had stopped trending on twitter, but since I've woken up it's back again. Pretty impressive, that's nearly 24 hours on and off it's been trending now. #1 trend on Youtube too. I've seen countless posts by people on social media saying they've previously not been interested in the Thor franchise but are super hyped about Ragnarok, all really good news. :woot:

Spidey just showed too much and didn't have music that grabbed me. I am still very much looking forward to it. Trailers really make no difference to me with MCU movies.

By far the most exciting trailer for a CBM this year watched it like 10 times so far, not even watched the other ones more than twice, my only fear now is it's a fantastic trailer generic film situation.

People comparing it with Guardians I hope it has more rewatachability, loved Guardians first couple of times but once you don't find the jokes funny anymore it gets a bit tedious for me. I like Thor's reaction bit cos it's funny first time you see it but doesn't lose its value over time.

At this rate and on the 24 hour mark it will probably reach around 15M views just on the Marvel youtube channel. So yeah this TT is a beast unleashed by Taika Waititi to the world.

Another THFTWP easter egg! Rachel House The Terminator!
And i bet she's gonna have some lines being the bartender it seems like.

And "Skuxx Life" also from THFTWP.

Aw, man. What a great catch. I hope she gets some great lines in because she had me in stitches during Wilderpeople. Maybe a line about "No child left behind!"

2nd best. Nothing will beat that first Logan trailer with Cash's version of Hurt playing in the background.

You mean the trailer with a cliche song that came out last year not this year?.......

The gif you posted is also altered. This is the correct one:

Someone keeps boosting the saturation on these lol

Personally I think the Ang Lee levels of green sort of works with the Avengers design. On the flip side I now wonder if Avengers Hulk's skin color could have saved the 2003 design a bit. Just a bit though, the model itself was still pretty rough in a lot of shots.

Ultimately though I'm pleased with how vibrant they've made Hulk without going over board. Ragnarok seems to be striking a nice balance.

EDIT: And just now I realize how boosted the green is in my avatar. Still looks pretty good though.

In norse mythology, during the creation of mjolnir loki placed a curse that made the handle come out shorter than intended (a warhammer is supposed to be two handed).
