Apocalypse Timeline(s) in Apocalypse

I kinda don;t want them to do another time travel film. We just got one...another focus on time travel would be redundant.

This will be a different kind of time travel film in terms of Futurama/Demolition Man. Apocalypse has put himself in suspended animation for thousands of years and having the X-men disrupt the timeline in DOFP is what will awaken Apocalypse.

I think Apocalypse and his Horsemen will be the time travelers. Maybe Cable is one of them. Like Galactus' herald who recruits.

Maybe the DOFP timeline is where Apocalypse rules after the Sentinels have wiped out the X-men and changing the future has stopped that so he sends Cable back to start his empire in the world without the Sentinels by recruiting a group of Horsemen to pave the way for his entrance into the new timeline.

Xavier is able to convince Cable not to do this and help keep Apocalypse trapped in the fading timeline.

I think they should set the movie in 1986/1987 and everything will figure itself out.:o

I think so. Singer just says it will set during 80's. not yet a real precision (85 or 86 ...) But 86/87 would be the best choice. As Scott Jean and Ororo are born between 70-73

Well, now we know that it'll be set in 1983.

Which means just threw out the empire timeline.

we have no idea when trilogy,Origins, and the wolverine for most part takes place.

Jean may be 18 In Apocalypse since it was confirmed by Kinberg to be her In DOFP as young girl watched Magneto moving stadum.

Thus she,Storm, and Cyclops could all be 18 In Apocalypse if they are all the same age.

we all have already said that since weeks ago, what's the point of repeating the same thing each day?

if only, lol
anyway, topic change: how would u all like young Kurt to be introduced?

jean, scott and storm could be 17 or ranging from 15 to 18 in 1983 it will work better for the story and they clearly want to only have 10 year gaps inbetween

So then, in 1985, when Professor X and Magneto went to visit Jean Grey, how old was she?

Because we all know that even though the timeline is changed, and maybe Xavier now didn't go visit her in 1985 (maybe he did it by himself (or with Beast) earlier), she was still born at the same time. That wouldn't change.

So, how old is this girl in 1985?

She looks younger than 15, 16, 17 or 18; and again, this is 2 years AFTER when the movie will take place!

By the way, for reference, Haley Ramm (pictured above) was only 13 in 2005 when this 1985 scene was filmed!!!!!

I bet it will be ignored tbh

Am I the only person that thinks the whole "Xavier storytime with Wolverine" bookend idea sounds incredibly cheesy and terrible?!

IMO, bookend is the is a logical approach for Apocalypse .

Days of Future Past will lead directly into Apocalypse. There’s a clear narrative thread that will string the two pictures together, and the character of Apocalypse is a good part of how this will work.

Days of Future Past ends with Logan talk about his last memory.
Apocalyspe starts with Xavier storytime with Logan.

saying it was 1985 based on the "20 years ago" tag line, your assuming TLS was set in 2005, just cause it was made in 2005...

but, since the movies were never given an exact year, they have some wiggle room

I mean, even tho, the first movie had the "not too distant future" tag line it could've been set only a short time into the future (less then a year) the events of all 3 of the OT only took place over the course of a few months, maybe a year (definitely not 5 years)

they could easily say that that TLS was set in 2001, 2002... making that flashback 1981, 1982... a year or 2 before when Apocalypse is suppose to be set...

Yea, then it he says "I remember drowning..." then it ends with Mystique fishing him out of the water in 1973.

What's your point?

Exactly!

I like that idea!

Yeah, I don't think its cheesey, more a natural continuation of the last film. And an easy explanation of why the characters have aged. We can just hop in at any point, especially if Xavier relates the story of how Logan joined them

Its only cheesey if the execution is cheesey.

I agree that the time gap between each of the 3 X-men films is very short. Considering that the World Trade Center was featured in X1, we could say that the movie took place in 2000. The liberty island attack was mentioned a few times in X2 and Wolverine had just returned from his trip to Alkalai lake so 3 or 4 months may have passed. With X3 featuring a different president and Cyclops still mourning Jean's death, you're right about the 2001 date. Knowing now that X-men: Apocalypse is set in 1983, then the X3 flashback scene occured in 1981 (2 years before the events of Apocalypse).

Timeline from Empire mentions Xavier and Magneto meet Jean Grey in 1981. So exit X3'intro saying 20 years ago TLS. This official timeline rectified the movie.

Who says Apo ill set in 83 ???!

Simon Kinberg already confirmed it's set in 1983 and the Empire timeline isn't anything official. They don't have to follow that made up thing at all.
