I feel a bit silly asking since it may have been covered but..

Does this movie take place in the X1-X3 timeline, at least to start? Magneto and Rogue(when she's re-inserted) both have their powers, and they lost them in X3

I also thought First Class was a reboot since Scott and Jean weren't' Xavier's first student's as he stated in X1

Yes, the majority of the future scenes in Days of Future Past take place after The Last Stand. At the end of The Last Stand, Magneto begins to recover from the cure, as is shown when he wiggles a chess piece with his powers. As for the discrepancy between First Class and X-Men, in X-Men, Xavier says Scott, Storm, and Jean are "some" of his first students, not necessarily the first. It's a stretch, but that's the best way to think of it.

I suppose the movie makers have us assume a lot then. Magneto and Rogue get their powers back (crappy cure?) and Charles somehow gets his body back?
