TitanFall

This is the only FPS since Red Faction to pique my interest.

and just my luck it comes out on the X-bone instead of the PS4.

I'm going to cry candy gumdrops if they ever announce it for the playstation.

Might as well get it out of your system now.

so is this going to come to the PS4 eventually?

We don't know for sure, but in all likelihood, yes. I think it'll be a big surprise if it doesn't within a year's time or less.

Man i really wish this was a launch title. That would of been HUUUUGE. It looks phenomenal. Ah well, spring is shaping up to be nice with this and Watchdogs dropping.
Yeah, I'm bummed I didn't get to try it at the game convention. I queued up for 30 mins, then they said it wasn't worth staying in the queue as there was only an hour left and the queue time might be longer.

Vince Zampella just tweeted this:
Always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is good for a startup. EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently =(

He was also asked if they would ever make a game for the PS4 and replied:
Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall.

So this deal is specifically for the first Titanfall game. So the sequel (who knows about a GOTY type thing) is still a possibility.

Microsoft was smart to lock it up. We'll see where the franchise goes after game one but it should payoff having the most anticipated next-gen title exclusively.

One problem though...I would not call it next gen. It's not going to necessarily lock up more X1 sales since all 360 users and PC users can get it. But so many own 360's it won't be as big of a loss to them. One thing about this generation is that unless it's exclusive to one generation, it's really not a "next gen" game as I see it. Mainly because the sales will be spread to older generations of consoles. I could see the majority of the sales being more for the 360 then a "system seller" for the X1.

Meh, I'm probably the only person here but nothing about this really lookedthat special to me. If the X1 has the problems iit's rumored to have EA will scrambl to get tthis on the ps4.

IGN among other outlets believe thats exactly what it'll be. It'll be interesting to see what numbers ACIV does, but these games that are having cross gen releases are seeing their sales take a dip due to what most suspect are people waiting for the next gen versions. Games like Watchdogs and Titanfall are being marketed MUCH more heavily towards the new systems than they are the current gen systems.

If this is accurate and Titanfall isn't coming to PS4, its a decent coup for MS, no matter how badly PS4 fans want to deny it. Its no game changer or anything of the such, but if Titanfall comes out to be the title most think it's going to be, that's going to be a big franchise for MS to have. Even going forward, if more Titanfall games come out and release on other consoles, it'll more than likely be associated with Microsofts Xbox One. We've seen it with series like Bioshock(more sales on 360), Mass Effect(more sales on 360) and Metal Gear Solid(The HD pack sold much more on Playstation 3).

IGN's comments are exploding over this.

Oh ya it's very possible. But all that depends on how well the PS4 does in terms of sales as well as the X1 etc. But it is a good grab. But the problem with these "cross-gen" games I understand why devs are doing it "$". But I bet the console makers don't like it because it does not really push new console sales.

It could be more associated with MS, but again it all comes down to sales, and PS4 is no PS3 this time, they are coming out strong and fighting. So if many make the PS4 their new console of choice, it will be more interesting to see what happens with Titanfall 2, mainly because I will bet that one will be truly "next generation". And will most likely be out with both the main leads.

This hurts Sony.

No way around it.

and God help them if TitanFall 2 is Xbox exclusive also.

I doubt it, that would hurt EA too much. With the massive amount of early PS4 sales, and PS3 sales beating out the 360 with a year lead, I'm sure EA will not want to cut their sales more than half a second time. MS must have pulled out that pretty checkbook of theirs to get Titanfall.

And I guess CBOAT was right about this though. I think he did say that Titanfall would not be on PS4 I believe.

Hm, well, I guess that is interesting. I don't know, would I be too much a cynic to wonder exactly their definition of a "lifetime" is via whatever contract was signed. It still seems so unlikely to be true.

I'm surprised it won't be coming to ps4. Big time pick up for Microsoft

No I don't think it hurts them too much at all. It helps MS but doesn't necessarily hurt Sony. The exclusive list is still heavily skewed in Sonys favor. It more than likely will be a great IP for MS to have, but as I said before, it's no game changer. Eventually the series will show up on other consoles and things will even out a bit.

I think that'll be irrelevant unless Sony moves double the amount of consoles MS has by the time theres another Titanfall. Thats certainly a possibility, but most analysts don't seem to think that Sony will be the runaway sales king that we message board folk seem to think. If the sales of the two consoles are even, or even if MS is slightly behind, Titanfall 2 will more than likely still sell better on Microsofts machine compared to Sonys, simply because of that attachment so many are going to perceive. I mean hell, just browse around some internet comment sections that features the news of this staying with MS. Sony fans are already completely dismissing Titanfall.
