Friend.........t:
Hardy will rock; he's a gifted actor, has gotten into terrific shape for the role, and by the looks of the writing, has finally been given the justice to the character Bane.![]()
Tt doesn't bother me at all that this Bane isn't South American, but I'm curious as to why they've chosen a European or Asian ethnics for the character. With the Joker you can get away with no telling of his origins in TDKR because of how it's inspired by The Killing Joke, but my curiosity for how Bane came to be will be interesting to see on the screen. For me, personally.![]()
Thats probably what I am looking forward to the most from the film,I became a huge bat-fan right around the time of Knightfall and Vengeance of Bane is one of my fave stories!
I'll give him credit for traps on that but not the neck. The neck (muscles that make up the neck) is a separate group of muscles. You can't really tell unless the shot is from the front or he looks toward the camera. But either way, that's not how he looks as Bane. When he did his shootings for Bane, he got fat and went through atrophy.
Well said Doc. Vengeance of Bane Pt. 1 & 2 are a great read.Vengeance of Bane Pt.1 & 2 proved to me that Bane doesn't need the Venom compound; in fact, if they just hinted at his prison life he had as a child and that he worked effortlessly on his body until his adulthood in solitary confinement.... that ALONE to me makes me believe Bane has the drive and will to destroy Batman.
I have NEVER seen a character done in such a way and perceives Batman the way he does; it's what makes Bane unique and one of my favorite villains.![]()

It's impossible. I haven't found them either.I need to get Pt. II; can't find it anywhere in the Valley.![]()
Same with Legacy; good lord, do you have ANY idea how hard it is to find the original book and back issues alone for that?!?!?!![]()
Pic on set of TDKR

Pic on same day as the previous pic I posted

How he can be called fat or small is beyond me. Yes, he's smaller and not as lean as Warrior but id love to see a pic of you out-neckntrapin-him cos he's so average.
That really is me done with this cos when defending Tom and his look I was bashed and saying I thought the vest is boxy I was bashed. I love Tom and the prologue proved to me be can do the job. I can't wait til I see the film in full.
The voice, the eyes...I'm sold. And don't forget that shot in the teaser of him walking up to and TOWERING over Batman...he will be a monster in all possible ways.
Give me your email and I'll send you that pic you're requesting.
Couldnt agree more.
It was nearly heartbreaking to see him turned into Wrestler Henchman Hulk in so many other stories/mediums.
Im so glad Nolan and Co decided to use him for this movie and cant wait to see the full story.![]()
Open forum, post away

Wasn't DC going to do a re release of both of those? Bane vs Batman or something?
As I've said before, I've met Tom and acted with him, and its not so much that's big but its the dude's presence. You just feel like he could snap and rip someone's head off at any second. Thats why I can't wait to see him as Bane, he can have the calmness og a master tactician, plotting his next move or the ferocity of a wild animal hunting it's prey.
You really think I would post a pic of myself on a public forum?
Yeah, Vengeance of Bane I & II were great. I remember picking up VOB when it came out and no one paid attention to it at first... it was like Sword of Azrael in that it turned out to be really important but DC couldn't come right out and say what they had planned because they wanted to surprise people. With VOB though they did run a promo announcing that he would be "the one to finally break the Batman." Of course, we didn't know at the time that would mean he would snap his spine, but at least a few of us took notice and figured that Bane would ultimately be an important character. Plus, I think it was right about the time when they killed Superman and a lot of us were thinking, "Could Batman be next?"
It's a shame that DC had so much trouble figuring out what to do with Bane after Knightfall. They inserted him into the Ra's al Ghul story, but that didn't last all that long. Then they kept trying to "redeem" him for some reason. That I never understood. He was sympathetic given his history... but he was a BAD guy. One of my favorite Bane lines was right before he beats up and breaks Batman, he says, "I would kill for anything." That tells you right there just what kind of guy he is. Human life means absolutely nothing to him. Maybe that type of person can be redeemed, but seriously, why? Bane is much more awesome as a ruthless, methodical villain.
Well said. I feel the same way. Their constant attempts at redeeming Bane felt somewhat forced. Feeling pity and somewhat sympathetic towards his harsh background was understandable but that didn't excuse for his actions as a monster which he was completely proud of and embraced in Knightfall.Yeah, Vengeance of Bane I & II were great. Hopefully with the eminent release of TDKR, DC decides to do a re release.*shakes head* Bane Vs. Batman only had Vengeance of Bane I and Bane of the Demon; there's a place called milehighcomics who has them, remarkably, but I need to get a job before I consider buying. Other than that however, yes... I don't know why they're so rare, but they are.
They did one for Ra's Al Ghul recently; I would have bought it for Bride of the Demon, but I own the other stories it contained. LOL
Yeah, that was kind of interesting, but then they dropped it and it turned out that his father was King Snake, I believe?
I think what always bugged me was, I never saw a good rematch between Batman and Bane. I think they fought a bit, off and on but there was never a good, satisfying battle like the Bane/Azbats fight. I really wanted to see Bruce duke it out with him and take him down once and for all.

That's why I'm hoping TDKR does something similar. Making Bane very much an irredeemable character yet still gives the audience a small peek at his tortured past.
The line "No one cared who I was until I put on the mask" gives me hope we might see something like that.
