I want to visit the UK. I'd try the beer, visit a gastropub just so I could say I've been to one, see one of the castles you've got sitting around your countryside, ride a train (I think we talked about that in the 1st DW thread), take a tour around London because I've got to see the city anyway, see what Scotland looks like, maybe visit Wales, hold a conversation with a Cockney just to see if I can, and try to hook up with an English chick.

If you can understand what Danny Dyer is saying in one of his movies then you should be able to handle talking to a cockney.

50 Cent is gonna be in a movie with danny dyer as well which is funny.

Its a Soap Opera about a farm town........yes it kinda sucks

If was seeling the town to a tourist I would mention the Leeds festival, The universities and being the home town of John Simm, Tom Wilkinson, Malcom McDowell, Peter O'Toole, Nevil Longbottom from the Harry potter films, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mel B (scary Spice) and professional interview rottweiler Jeremy paxman.

The Chef Marco Pierre White is from Leeds, also John Hurts character in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull..
Also 3rd biggest city in UK.

It's good for shopping and the nightlife. Theres the Royal Armouries museam. Theres the Leeds music festival every august bank holiday weekend. Two great Universities.....

I'm going to check this show out on DVD tomorrow. Happen to come across John Barrowman singing on You Tube and fell in love. A friend recommended I catch him on this show as Captain Jack. From the clips I've seen I have a feeling I'm going to get hooked!!! :heart:

John Barrowman's great on Torchwood, but he's more fun as Captain Jack on Doctor Who, IMO.

You don't have to watch all 47 years' worth, just the last 5

756 episodes is a lot for anyone I think.

Just for the sake of Captain Jack, you only need to watch the 2005 episodes of Doctor Who. It's the "First Series" DVD's-- and even then, you only need to watch episodes 9-13. That's when he's introduced for the first time. After that, I think you can watch Torchwood on its own. I think most of us would recommend you also watch Doctor Who, if only because we loves tha Doctah.

There's a couple of Who-Jack crossover episodes over the seasons. It's worth watching Who, though. Eccleston was fun, and Tennant was fantastic.
