The thing I like about this is:
1. You don't have to recast the characters. Christian Bale and Brandon Routh are still THE film Batman and Superman
2. You aren't tired down by Bale and or Routh not wanting to do the film. This way instead of relying on the chance that they both will do it but probably only as a one-off thing. you can just use the other 5 actors and actually turn this into a franchise. Justice League could become DC's equivalent to the X-Men film series
3. Even if they decide to pass on this film, because a franchise is now viable, Batman and/or Superman could still show up and play big parts in future installments
