Supergirl Tyler Hoechlin IS Superman

So, there can't be people taller than Superman?

I guess so. I don't agree though

Seriously this version of Jimmy should not have even been called Jimmy Olsen at all. Not a good interpretation of the character IMO. A race change is totally fine, but the execution is so off, he should be far younger and nerdier, that's the whole appeal of the character

Although I don't really care about Jimmy being taller than Superman - I actually kind of like the idea in a way - I have to agree that my first instinct would be to make the former quite a bit shorter.

I haven't seen him in anything other than Road to Perdition all those years ago and Everybody Wants Some, but...I dunno, seems like a decent choice to me.

Character ages for Supergirl:
Kara Zor-El/Kara Danvers: 24
Alexandra "Alex" Danvers: 26
James Olsen: 32 or 33
Kal-El/Clark Kent: 35 or 36

Hoechlin IS admittedly a much younger actor than I expected them to go after, but Rappaport Casting and these writers/producers haven't let me down yet, so I'm not going to 'pooh-pooh' this casting too much.

Sweet Christ

So, in the inevitable crossover, Superman does the Salmon Ladder?

If he were a bit older, he'd look a bit like Jeffrey Hunter (Captain Pike in the original Star Trek pilot).

I honestly don't know what to think. Unlike others this show has let me down from the start and the cast is a big part of it.

Idk. I think the cast is mostly fine except for Mechad Brooks, who is the odd one out in several ways.

Guys, it's TV. The acting will be crap and it's all superficial. He has the look (maybe not the height or build) for TV acting and story/script, it's fine. The one problem I have is that I don't see him towering over Supergirl height wise so that can be weird to see.

Comic book hero shows can be good on TV. Just see Daredevil on Netflix, albeit that is like rated R. Point is if the source material is interpreted right by writers than it can be good. The CW must stop treating its shows like soaps or sappy teen dramas.

He is the black one, yes.

Why make it about race? He stands out because he has no chemistry with anyone and doesn't really seem to fit anywhere. He's also the wrong physical type and age for Jimmy and now creates an oddity for Superman. He could've been white and still been the odd one out or he could be black but fit in perfectly.

I still want this to happen in live-action...

It was a joke, dude.

:lmao:

Good casting. he can play a 30-something just fine. Do hope they shave his face though and not keep the scruff/beard.

^ I disagree with the scruff/beard thing. A bearded/scruffy Superman would be awesome.

He was never even on my radar and I cant even envision it. This should be interesting.

He could pull of the bearded Superman from Rebirth.

About 6'3".

thanks.

well, he would be taller than the new Superman actor, because I've seen some sights list Tyler at really 5'11.5" or so. so just a tad under 6'0".

and really, I don't mind if Superman isn't the tallest guy in the room. it just shows that you don't have to be 6'2" to be Superman. it gives us shorter/average guys hope! :o

And after all, isn't hope what Superman is supposed to stand for??
