Supergirl Tyler Hoechlin IS Superman

So, apparently, Tyler Hoechlin participated in this year's All-Star Celebrity and Legends Softball Game, which was held Sunday night at Petco Park in San Diego. He went 1-for-2 with a key home run (and some, ahem, superhuman defense) in the AL's 5-4 victory, and was named MVP.

They kept mentioning his college time (he attended Arizona State, apparently), but made no mention of him being the next Superman until his postgame interview. :/

Other celebs involved included J.K. Simmons (who of course, won an Oscar for 'Whiplash,' which also starred Melissa Benoist), Jamie Foxx, Andy Cohen, singer Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), and Terry Crews. Among the MLB legends were Rickey Henderson, David Wells, Fred Lynn, and Ozzie Smith.

Here are some photos from the game: http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseb...ebrity-softball-game-2016-pictures-1.12027706

I watched the game, they did make one mention of him being Supergirl's Superman.

Aw......not a big deal, there will be tons said about it, and it will be talked about at GREAT LENGTH I'm sure next week at SDCC.... ;)

Hopefully he will be a good Superman. The bar is not exactly set high right now, with the bland and boring Cavill.

There is so much they can play around with too in the tv medium where we will get to see hopefully dozens plus hours of him as the character. I'm hoping they can finally do something interesting and not so one dimensional

Well thus far he is only in 2 episodes.

I wonder if they can turn this into a Superman spin-off? It would be cool to see the flip side that Cat Grant refers to when she talks about the Daily Planet as her competitor.

Plus, there probably wouldn't be any need for an origin story, and they could jump right into the plot.

I'm curious what the synopsis will be. If he's well-liked, they might do something with a spin off.

What's TVD?

And if they add a fifth show, then they have a solid line-up through the entire week!

I wouldn't mind a Superman spin-off, but I wonder if it will syphon off viewers from Supergirl.

maybe they can alternate throughout the year. So, when Supergirl is finished for the season, then Superman can air. And when that season is over, then Supergirl can start up again.

I can't support a Superman spinoff. It'd pretty much kill Supergirl. Most I could see working is a separate unrelated spinoff, that also gives Superman a supporting role ( ex: Legion of Super Heroes ).

I'm starting to like the idea of exploring a DC Universe (or two) where Superman is a background character, even if Superman eventually shows up in the Flarrowverse. It worked for "Young Justice".

Surprised they didn't drop a costume pic during the panel.

Yeah, he's not going to get to try on the suit until Tuesday at the earliest (since that's when they start filming).

Yep and I look forward to see what the suit is going to look as well.

According to Brandon Routh, he got to meet Tyler last night and was impressed with his sincerity.

I wish he and Henry Cavill meet in their supersuits!!

I am hoping we do get some footage of the first day of filming, like we did last year....and hopefully Ali has the phone out and ready to document as much as she did last year as well.

I'm not sure what people are not going to Vancouver.....apparently on David's periscope he did earlier they saw someone from production at CBS hugged him like a long lost relative....lol It is going to be very interesting to see the difference in writing especially from what we saw @CBS and what we will see @theCW. One thing I will be happy about and that is LESS procedural crap like CBS loves.

The show was developed to be Procedural-esque in nature regardless of network, so that's not likely to change.

I hope Superman and Supergirl will connect in Season 2 that they didn't in Smallville.

I think it is definitely going to change...so we will have to agree to disagree. :)

Ah, see we get to see the meeting of Supermen Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh. Now if only we get a meeting between Tyler and Henry, along with Flashes Grant Gustin and Ezra Miller!!
