Uncanny Avengers

Ok, thanks. I guess either I misread it, or they didn't do a very good job of identifying Folkbern Logan as an ancestor of Logan, and not actually him.

Yeah, I understand it could be a bit confusing. It came off a little clumsy by Remender. And to top it all off, a dead Baron Mordo pops up out of nowhere into the mix with Thor's axe embedded in his skull. So, was he dead for years...or did someone steal Thor's axe and recently use it to kill Mordo? I guess either Remender or Aaron will explain it at some point.

I remember reading in an interview with Remender a few months back that how Jarnborn (the axe) became embedded in the corpse of Mordo will be explained by Aaron in Thor. Comic book resources just published another interview with Remender (link below). For better or worse, it seems that the "apocalypse twins" arc isn't really concluding until issue 25 :wow:. Also, we can expect a confrontation between [BLACKOUT]Red Skull [/BLACKOUT]and[BLACKOUT] Magneto[/BLACKOUT]!

Remender always plans things out over 25 issue spans but Red Skull and Magneto? Hold onto your hats because it could get epic with those two.

He seems like the only one they could kill
everybody else seems too important to whats going on, except maybe sunfire, but the solicits show its clearly not him

Yep they aren't going to kill anyone with an ongoing so Captain America, Thor and Wolverine are safe.

It sounds like Remender has future plans for Havok, Sunfire, Scarlet Witch and Rogue who is also in the all female X-Men book.

Wasp only just came back and Remender has plans for her character so that leaves Simon Williams as the obvious one to snuff it which sucks as he just got back from being written like a lunatic for the past few years.

yeah, and the pacifist superhero thing has lots of potential
I'd honestly like to see a Wonder Man solo focusing on that whole idea

edit: Yayyyy, 2000th post!! Now I can get a real Avi, right??

Damn......Wonder Man really? Ugh, I hope not. Hopefully it's all a ruse since the life and death seeds are laying all over the place.

I'm callin it, Howard the Duck rises as the new Apocalypse
now there's a twist for ya

one that i'd buy the s*** out of.

Comic Con bits and pieces:

Rick Remender, also on the dais, talked about Uncanny Avengers and "Ragnarok Now," the current arc. The Apocalypse Twins, from the far future with Kang, and have their own agenda. Steve McNiven was announced as joining the series with issue #14, featuring the promo art you see below. The story will feature Red Skull, the Twins, Kang, go through time and space, and will "have a large body count. The heroes will pay with loss of life."

A fan dressed as Tron Deadpool asked if Uncanny Avengers cast would expand at all, and Remender said just the opposite, "The cast will be getting much smaller actually, at least for a time." Remender did say that he wanted to have Deadpool sneaking into the mansion and pretending to be a butler for them but couldn't make it work.

Remender, asked about how the Uncanny Avengers will move beyond their ideological split of recent issues, said that it will take awhile, "if they get back together, or when."

Where is Doctor Doom right now, and will he be taking on Thanos at all? "He is in play in Fantastic Four, and in the long term," said Alonso. Wacker said "it's hard to talk about because we were JUST discussing his future." Remender offered, "I will give a spoiler: Doom 2099 has a huge part in Uncanny Avengers soon."

Any prior horseman being mentioned/used like Gambit? Remender, "I think his death seed has been ejected, but we don't know, it's a question. Sunfire as well, and he's in the story, it'd be a real bummer if he suddenly turned again as well! The four new horsemen of Death breaks the rules. It's a whole new level of threat. The Death Seed, once it's planted, is supposed to be the heir to Apocalypse, so what happens if you give it to a Human instead of a Mutant? The Death persona takes over the Void persona for Sentry. It's a big part of the story. It goes on for a long time, and we'll get to a lot of it."

So, Remender said at comic-con about new members in the team that, "Not until a big shift in #22, where more members come on"

Anyone hoping/suspecting Gambit to join?

Rick also mentioned Gambit's death seed in that panel. Plus, in Gambit's ongoig solo book (which is awesome! and cancelled) Gambit has been grappling with Rogue's offer to him to join the team earlier in the series and came back on his mind in the last issue...

Seeing as Both Gambit's Solo and Astonishing X-Men titles are being axed i'm hoping he shows up in UA. :)

I dont want Gambit on a team with Rogue and definetly not as an Avenger. I wouldnt mind seeing him join Amazing X-men instead

I'd love to see Gambit join because he makes sense in the ongoing storyline (though if it still makes sense at that point I don't know). Same with Chamber.

It would make sense for him them to be utilized. That doesnt mean they have to join the team.

It was hinted at a long time ago that Gambit was going to join the Avengers. Uncanny Avengers would make the most sense.

I'm kind of hoping since X-Factor is ending, PAD mentioned writers pretty much came in and picked what guys they wanted to use. Jamie Madrox on Uncanny Avengers? That would be amazing.

I want to see Madrox on a Heroes for Hire book alongside Luke and Danny.

They should do like Wolverine and put him on every team. Unlike Logan, his appearance in every book would actually make sense given his powers. They can make it a running gag with him

I dunno, Madrox was a running gag in the 90's. He so much more than that now.
