Just finished, absolutely loved this game. They ended it perfectly. Well done ND. Yeah my rankings for sure are

A Thief's End
Among Thieves/Drake's Deception tied
Drake's Fortune

Great franchise, loved this final entry. :hrt:

I was honestly thinking at the end..
We'll here's how we get more Uncharted. The untold stories of Sam and Sully.

I almost was thinking that too. But I love the way they ended everything and wrapped it all up perfectly.

Because Among Thieves has giant, stupid blue people. Seriously.. I live these games but I HATED that part of the game. The entire ending of that game was just meh for me.

And Drake's Deception has spiders that you have to swing a torch at.
Also, the whole Ramses ship thing in the middle of the game that they clearly threw in there cus they wanted to see Drake on a sinking ship, but had absolutely no idea how to fit into the story. Basically a waste of time.

wasn't that a ship on the way to the desert that drake was tryna get to?

Not at all. You're in Yemen with Elena and Sully, you're then taken by Talbot and Marlowe. Then you're kidnapped by the pirate, Ramses, and he takes you to a ship graveyard where he convinces you that he's got Sully. You jump through hoops, only to find out that Sully was never there. The ship sinks, you go into the ocean, and wind right back up at the city in Yemen with Elena.

It's absolutely pointless, makes little sense, and could've easily been cut out.

:pal:

I love how much ND went out for the MP. Speaking of which, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they included all of the main heroes and villains from past games. It's really nice to see the PS4 versions of their models.

So I've been involved in a bit of a debate on Facebook, and I figured I'd bring the topic here.

In terms of characterization (not romantic interest), who is the better character, Chloe or Elena?

The argument is that Chloe is the more complex character, and Elena is the "super generic damsel in distress love interest but also haha I am a strong independent woman who don't need no man or no real character arc and I'm a roadblock for the protagonist and try to keep him from being himself "

I completely disagree, and think that Elena is the more complex character, and Chloe is pretty much just a plot device to drive the story in Uncharted 2. But I'm curious to hear what others think.

by complex you mean characters with depth? that's not even entirely fair comparison to make because elena has had by far, way more exposure to the series than chloe. she's basically the second most important character after nathan.

whereas chloe was a main character in Uc2, and a supporting character in Uc3. that's it. chloe may have just as much "depth" but her character hasn't had the same amount of exposition.

I will say this though...elena is definitely not the cliche "damsel in distress" b. she can definitely handle herself and hold her own. if anything it's chloe who was ever a damsel in distress when she was on the train and nathan feeling like he needed to save her.

Well that small bit I posted was just a truncated version of a much longer debate. But the argument was that the conflict between Nate/Chloe in UC2 was much more interesting than that of Nate/Elena, and that Elena didn't really belong in that game.

I just find this completely ridiculous because while Nate is charming and funny on his own, it's his relationship with Elena that provides the most emotionally captivating moments of the game, and franchise overall. Not to mention she opens up a way to give Nate some great character progression. I always felt like Chloe was too similar and too selfish that a romance between those two would never be interesting and wouldn't work out in the long haul.

Agreed

And Elena was done great in this game, her and Nate etc. Very satisfying.

Before Drake's Deception, Chloe easy. After the last two games, Elena. She was generic in the first two games, but that changed.

And nobody is complaining about the delays that it suffered. Like I said back then, if the game is great, and of course it is, nobody will care. Everyone is having the best time with this game.

^ yep I never had any problem with the delays either.

Enjoy it? I think you like me were ranking it above Among Thieve's as the top one  I absolutely loved it.
I really, really liked it. Felt like it tapered off at the end, but it is at least tied with Among Thieves for me.

I personally never got the love for Chloe as a character. While both female leads were kind of walking cliches in their first appearances, Elena easily emerged as the more interesting, three-dimensional and frankly, lovable character as the games went on, imo.

I was just thinking about this on my way to work. I nearly forgot about the few delays and unlike most other studios, I sort of trusted ND to make sure they put their best product forward. But I'm still curious to see or hear about the previous iterations of the game.

To be honest
This is exactly why I didn't care about her not being in Uncharted 4. I was a little bummed that we didn't get to see her updated model like we saw Cutter before launch, but she's in the multiplayer and that is more than enough to satisfy my need to see her.

na I still do care that this game came out significantly later than it was supposed to. it's the middle of 2016 now. in the end it doesn't matter because it is what it is but i didn't suddenly forget that we were supposed to play this game at the end of last year.

funny i guessed her name was cassie. like the daughter of sonya blade and johnny cage.

great ending. the treasure was people, or family angle made a great character filled story.
