The Dark Knight Rises Unpopular Opinion but I hate The Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy

Im not going to crap all over them, mostly since i dont care that much for Batman, but I saw Batman begins and it was ok, didnt knock me out and i only went to see the second film because of all the DC villains, Two-Face is my favorite, so i wanted to see that and it was Heath Ledgers last role, it was ok, abit long, i remember sitting in the theater looking at my watch thinking this is going long, alot of talking, and was absolutely uninterested in the third film, to this day i have not seen it, again, i get people like what they like, but this assumption Nolan is come geniuos is vastly over rated, they were ok films, nothing to write home about, but, again, to each their own.
Not to mention that the Dark Knight Trilogy basically is the reason why we have the disaster that is the DCEU, so gives me all the more of a reason to hate them.

In the short time you've been here, the only thing you have been doing is creating threads to complain about things or to give your "hot takes". To the point that it seems like an act, hence the word shtick. Basically it just seems like you're complaining just to complain.

I’m just stating my honest opinion and expressing myself.

Score: Batman 89
Gotham: Batman 89
Batsuit: Batman 89
Batvoice: Batman 89
Batmobile: Batman 89
Action: Batman 89
Love Interest: Batman 89
Dialogue: Tie
Cinematography: TDK
Gordon: TDK
Joker: TDK
Story: TDK
Faithfulness of interpretation: TDK

These two are the most important to me.

And neither films had great action or love interests.

As someone who loves Joker I think both Nicholson and Ledger had moments but both felt pretty off, Nicholson just too old and too often goofy-hammy and Ledger just too thuggish and pure evil and not at all funny/charming.

Love Interest: Batman 89

LOL, I think not many people like either Vicki or Rachel and in TDK Rachel was, I think a few weird awkward/forced scenes aside, not really love interest, or she somehow both was and wasn't.

Vicki Vale served her purpose. She was supposed to fought over and rescued. Batman's equal would come later with Catwoman.

Now that I definitely disagree with
I thought Ledger's Joker was hilarious, in a dark way

Wayy funnier than any other Joker imo, with Nicholson's goofy pun-humor at #2

Agreed. I’d say that Joker is never “charming.”
He is more a force of nature that demands your attention. You’re repulsed by him but you cannot take your eyes off of him.

Ledger fits that bill completely.

Joker’s go-to weapon is a crowbar. He can certainly be thuggish at times.

Batman 89's influence is all over Batman TAS.

Gotham, the music, the batmobile, etc
But aren’t these superficial? The characterizations were fairly different.

I say this as someone who absolutely loves ‘89.

One of my favorite things about Batman was a that he is somewhat malleable. ‘66 to ‘89 to TDK to The Batman. In their own ways, they are all valid interpretations. My only problem with’89 was that he was reckless in his disregard for human life, which is usually a no-go for me, but ‘89 hid it better than the gross failure that was BvS

Atmosphere/Setting is a major reason BTAS works. Also I don't think music/score are superficial.

Take away the music/score from A New Hope and it's a totally different movie.

Wasn't Man of Steel supposed to be set in the Nolanverse before Snyder went the Batfleck route?

Anyhow, I like the stories and grounded nature of Nolans movies as well as it's impressive cast. Bale as Batman was just horrible. He sounded like Sly's Rambo trying to be Batman with that voice.

It never seizes to amaze me how people equate action with fighting choreography and nothing else. Just going by The Dark Knight alone, I cannot fathom how people see iconic scenes like the bank heist, the truck chase, the batpod reveal, the hospital blowing up, Lau's kidnapping, all in glorious IMAX, and think this is a movie with mediocre action. Action isn't fist fights, it's mainly suspense and tension and each film in the trilogy, especially the second one, has impeccable tension from beginning to end.
