Venom Revamp

Yes, but then Brock is just an innocent victim instead of a real villain. The symbiote could easily ditch him to go for some other host.

Or it could keep him as an unwilling host to use as a shield, knowing Peter wouldn't go all out on Eddie.

Thus, the symbiote is the true villain after all, the true "Venom" like Stan Lee made it sound.

didn't Peter realize the symbiote was hiding things from him in the 90's TAS? i remember a scene where he's analyzing it on his computer and he says something to that effect

No, in TAS he says the symbiote blocked out memories/thoughts from him at the Church. The bell starts ringing and the symbiote is in pain. Peter then flashes back to when one of the bounty hunters hit him with a sonic blaster and it weakened him. He realized sound hurt the symbiote and that the only reason he didn't put it together before was because the suit was deliberately blocking it from his mind to protect itself.

Exactly...the symbiote will do whatever it needs to get what it wants; so if it blocks a few things from Eddie's mind to show how truly "evil" Peter/Spidey if, then it will, which, imo, that's what I think will happen...in "Natural Selection", Eddie tries to help Spidey, but Spidey doesn't want him to, but with the symbiote's influence, it could make Eddie think Spidey wanted all the glory in turning Dr. Connors back to normal.

It might even make him think that Peter screwed up Connors' formula to make him a monster so he could have a villain to fight and take pictures of, and getting fired was just a backfire of the plan.

That's exactly what I meant. The alien might play Eddie like a puppet and give him false memories.

If Eddie learns that Peter is Spider-man then he will most likely get even more pissed that Peter didn't only take pictures of Connors but he also used his position as Spidey to get money of his friends while saving the day.

By the way, since Peter is taking the symbiote to Connors for examination there's a good oportunity for some Eddie/Peter interaction in next episode.

There has to be some interaction, it's unavoidable.

But why would "Peter" take an alien organism to Doc Connors? Wouldn't "Spider-Man" make more sense?

That never ceased to bug me in the movie. Peter give Connors a piece of the symbiote, and Connors reacts so normally, like anyone average guy can just come across an alien organism and bring it in like an urine sample.

I do not think Peter/Spidey would be bringing the alien to Connors. It would be NASA or those who found the symbiote stuck on the shuttle.

As for the movie, I guess it was because Peter and Connors had more of understanding between each other than Spider-Man. In any case, Peter too didn't had any idea of where it came from, they never established whether it was an alien or some Earthbound organism.

Well, I thought it was a great idea, but that's just me.

But his main point of contention was that Peter not only took pictures, but that he ran off from the cure effort to take pictures.

So if he finds out he's Spidey he'll know Peter was there, helping all along and the pictures thing will be inconsequential.

You've been right about all these things, the outcome isn't looking very nice at all. I hope they have something planned.

You know how easly a person can distort events. He can easly assume he didn't want to help with the Lizard cure because he rathered to run off there to get a chance to take pictures of him battling the freak monster Connors turned into.

When you look at the original picture of venom. he's a weak character on the inside. someone willing to blame another because he can't own up to what he did wrong.
that makes sense.

I'm curious as to what the new spin will be. for a guy to protect another like a kid brother from bullies in high school and than suddenly want to kill him. I still have faith in these writers. but I STILL wish they would have waited to tell the venom saga.

you can argue all you want about the 90's cartoon. but peter was 19 in that version. and had been Spider-man much longer.

I agree with you, they should have waited but than again we can't for Venom now can we :woot:.

I'm guessing here but I wonder if Venom-Spidey feud will only be temporary and Eddie will eventually become an ally, since they were buddies.

Well, if we had gotten Venom 1st in season 2 or later, people would have complained and compared it to how TAS was able to give us Venom in the 1st season, so Spec SM could have too. People complain about everything.

^ Agreed. I guess Venom, Ock, and Gobby are those villains that are to be the top priority for any Spidey related project.

IMO, the Venom saga is at the perfect time. It's at the end of the first season and we've had Brock developed all through this season as well.

But Brock has been developed as a great guy. A GREAT guy. Nothing in his life has gone ****-up, and his bond with Peter, while not as strong as it was before, is a bond of brotherhood. Its like teh writers purposely made Brock a challenge to write for. So lets see how things work out.

Continue to speculate, of course, cause this is one villain who could go in so many directions.

I'll admit, at least with this version I may not totally hate the idea of Venom as an anti-hero.

I just hope Weisman just doesn't repeat Clayface from "The Batman" with this Brock.

True....your always going to have some people that complain. lol....even over the most pointless stuff. haha.

but like I said Earlier Peter was 19 in that series and had already developed his powers. in this series we're talking about a 16 year old kid that hasn't even been spiderman for a year yet.

I just want venom to get the creative respect he deserves. :woot:

you pointed that out VERY well. :woot:

i agree with you. it would get old QUICK. and his appearances in the future would be to easy to call and uninspired.
which brings me to another question....will spidey take the suit from brock? will we be tricked into thinking brock is dead? (ala joker batman tas) or will he escape?

Yeah, but I think they were introduced at great times in this series. I mean Goblin didn't show up until the middle of the season, when he's one of the most anticipated villains for casual Spidey fans. Doc Ock was aso held back for a good amount of time, and it was funny that he was "created" in the 8th episode. Venom IMO is a great way to end the season. But now season 2 is going to have a tough act to follow.

Well, since the Symbiote arc will begin this saturday, Brock will most likely appear and he will most likely start to change even more.
