Venom Revamp

Yes, but it also means he's not a very deep char nor is there much that can be done with him dramatically. Also there's the lack of a real connection between him and Spidey, which is why they've re-conceptualized him as Peter's oldest friend in this version.

I remember reading a fan fic describing Venom that really impressed me. Hate is a powerful emotion, its something that you can actually play with and be really creative. I know he is a one tone character in terms of motivation but the awesome sense of humour and cool design just make up for that.

Imagine if he ever succeeded in killing Spidey. What would he do now? Take Spidey's place as the hero?

Well, he would most likely do what he did in the comics, say somewhere where nobody could find him, which in the comics was a deserted island because he thought he killed Spidey, but Spidey tricked his death.

Tho that was kinda stupid in the comics. If the symbiote feeds on adrenaline and induces his host to take adrenaline inducing behaviours, a desert island is the last place where Brock would be able to go.. The symbiote would just feed off him until he died.

Didn't the symbiote feed off of Eddie's cancer?

Did anyone else find arrival of symbiote a bit too washed out or pretty much not given too much thought into? I really don't get it as why the origin is of the symbiote is being given the movie like treatment, as some just pest who happens to collide with the shuttle and hitches a ride. They could have invested a bit more into the matter. TAS had it so much better, crew actually were on a mission of sort on a meteor and the thing was contained within their sample. But I guess we can hope the later story isn't as rushed.

It's a well known fact space debris slam into spacecraft, nearly all the time.

I was hoping they'd adapt the "Super John Jameson" story from ASM 41-42 where John became super-powered due to cosmic spores he was exposed to in outer space, but also very violent. Spidey had to stop him when he went on a rampage. Exceptin this version it wouldn't have been spores from space.

True, but I guess it's origin isn't as important as the character it'll eventually create.

I always thought the symbiote might have its own motives. Somewhere in the same vicinity as Braniac's. But if he did succeed in killing, he would be in for disappointment of his life for Spidey can't stay dead. Some cosmic powers will bring him back to life:whatever:.

It seems as if they just don't want to spend so much time explaining the origin of the symbiote.

Well you have to understand, that there was a lot going on in The Uncertainty Principle. We've got problems with Harry, the Green Goblin etc. Personally, I liked the introduction of the symbiote, simple yet effective. Nobody knows where the extraterrestrial came from, other then it was in the meteorite at the time. I'd rather they keep a shroud of mystery around the exact origin of the symbiote. Besides, I figure in the next couple of episodes were going to learn about it. Then we'll see how interacts with Parker, and finally, Venom!

It's not like the told us an awful lot about the symbiote in the first part of "Alien Costume" in TAS either...

I'm not sure how that is any better? By chance it's picked up as a sample from a meteor or by chance it attaches itself to the shuttle after it's meteor has been destroyed.

Well, in TAS instead of a random meteor they hit by accident they deliberately went to an asteroid that the symbiote had been living on for a long time.

Well, we don't even know for sure if Carnage is in this show.

USM anyone :woot: ?

As for Venom, I think that Eddie' hatred toward Peter or Spider-Man could come from Gwen. He seems to be really close to her, almost like an over-protective big brother. And there is also the fact that he seems a little bit jealous of Peter's brain. And then comes symbiote-Peter, who will most likely hurt Gwen one way or another and perharps hurt Eddie directly, perharps by "proving" to him that Peter is the smarter of the two, perharps even steal a job or an opportunity from him...

I don't remember watching the episodes so apologies for the questions but where did the meteor that they explored come from?

In TAS it was explained that the asteroid was the whole point of their expedition. Astronomers on Earth found it floating close by the planet so they sent up John to investigate, and then as an added publicity stunt the shuttle would land at one of NYC's airports.

That was why the shuttle crashed in NYC.

Your probably right. But I guess in the end it doesn't matter as much.
