Well I have red 'em all, and my opinion of what I've seen so far is way below my expectations. Don't like my opinion, fine.

And I do treat replies quoting me as an attack on me, after all, it was my post specifically being quoted.

Learn how to spell the word "read" and maybe we'll take your opinions seriously.

Movies are built on cliches. It all depends on how they are executed. And I thought Pitt played the role perfectly.

He wasn't just cocky and arrogant. He was the optimist of the story. He sees everything in black and white. The good guys always win, the bad guys always lose type of guy.

That is why the ending was so brilliant. Because it completely broke this cocky, young optimist. The part where he is being driven off in the car at the end with his eyes and face completely blank and dead looking was a brilliant piece of acting I thought.

I couldn't of said it better. Perfectly put, Ace.:up:

Have you seen The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford? It's easily Pitt's greatest performance EVER. Anyone who says he is a bad actor should watch it. And well....anyone who likes stunning pieces of filmmaking should watch it too.

No I haven't. I intend to though. His performance looks quiet and astonishing.

some people on the internet are saying that Holmes and Watson look gay together.

where are those people born? on mars?

I don't know what their problem is. I mean, it's not like either Holmes or Watson are carrying a purse around like that gay, purple teletubby Tinkie Winkie or anythinggggggg.........oh, crap, I forgot, wasn't RDJ sporting a fannypack in one scene in the trailer? Well, at least they're not wearing tight pants and eyeliner.

But, seriously, people say that about every set of guys that are that close to each other. Sometimes, I think people go out of there way to find something gay in a movie, show, book, etc.

It's projecting man. They think because 2 guys live together it must be that they are gay. Forgetting that it was Victorian England and societal mores were a certain way. Besides, Watson was married for quite a few years before his wife died.

Bachelor home from Afghanistan and India sharing a room with a detective, married running his own medical practice, widower living with his best friend. Where's the gay?

holly s.... i think i am getting this movie in januar.

this is insane. i hate those dates.

I can't believe it's only a month away. I'll see it the next day it comes out. Too bad.

Saw the trailer when watching RAW last night, I really can't wait. Movie looks good. :D

Sherlock Hemlock is officially rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some startling images and a scene of suggestive material.

Because Jude Law once played a robot gigolo, and RDJ once worked WITH a gay detective and now he's PLAYING a detective ZOMG!!!!!1!!1!!!

if it's funny how people say stuff like that without even thinking. Because the gay culture is open, I think people tend to misinterprete what's gay and what's not these days, even in the most nonsensical way.

For example, my friend thought that Carol and Max's friendship in 'Where the Wild Things Are' was homoerotic. (he said it in a negative context) I was like "whaaa'?

I think a lot of this kind of opinion is allowed to perpetuate because no one humiliates these people with their "That looks gay" projection. I had one of my wife's friends husbands do that crap all the time (which is funny since he and his best friend thought it was funny to do things like pull each others shorts down at a pool party one time, and kiss when they are drunk). But he was always pointing tout how "Ghey" this and that and who was. I snapped on him one day when he started up with the crap, and brought up my Dad in making a joke, and I went off on him and his relationship with him and his best friend being a bit hands on. Almost came to blows, but it had to be done, guy was acting like a *****e and was kinda a self loather.

Needless to say, the Wife doesn't really push us together anymore since I'm not allowed to any more BBQ's. Darn...

Does RDJ have a Brit accent in the movie? I saw a couple of SH trailers this weekend, but I couldn't detect the accent.

Indeed. Anyone who has doubts about it, look at Chaplin.

Yup, he's sporting an accent.

Good to know. I always hate it when an actor couldn't or won't get the right accent for the role (although in Kevin Costner's case in Robin Hood, maybe he just doesn't have the ability to).

Because he has the emotional range of a pencil? I think I've seen pencils speak better.

I never seen any of the TV films of Sherlock Holmes made before this WB movie. I'm gonna see it for first time Holmes on film.

No Young Sherlock Holmes?

that was a good movie. sadly people rarely bring it up.
Agreed. And yeah, I wonder why some hardly mention it.

Dudley: Only seconds left Holmes, I assume you've given up.

Sherlock Holmes: Never assume anything, my good fellow.
