^Sorry, I just dont see how it did, in the 3rd act, he nearly died twice and still got up for more.

Exactly, he clearly is a superman.

He even knows he's probably gonna die at the end but still decides to go and save the world.

True, but I don't think he ever really threw a punch, nor did he show much aggression. For the most part he just got dominated by Luthor's thugs.

He wanted to make them look good :woot:

X-CITED: Meanwhile, Singer confirms that his next movie will be a sci-fi fantasy "genre" film, in the vein of his previous work with X-Men and Superman Returns.

"It's almost totally in place, but I can't talk about it," he says. We ask if it starts with an "S" (there's talk of yet another Superman "reboot"). "I wish I could say, but I'm trying to nip it in the bud because I tend to babble when I'm interested and excited about something. And I'm definitely in the 'interested and excited' stage -- which is definitely better than the 'What the f--- do I do next?' stage.

"I can tell you that science fiction and fantasy, those are the films I lined up around the block to see as a kid. Those are the films I love to make."

It also seems "Prisoners" is pretty much dead.

Random Thought: Star Trek also begins with the letter "S", and Singer is a huge Trekkie. Not to mention, that he could literally go "all Wrath of Khan on it".

He also made a comment here as well.

On any possible follow-up to Superman Returns, the responses were more vague and hesitant. After the mixed response and financial underperformance of Superman Returns, it's widely believed he is unlikely to direct any further Superman movies.

He said: "I don't know, I don't know. There are still issues...I just...I just don't know. I don't necessarily...I don't know. It's one of those things where...It's so weird talking about stuff unless I'm about to ramp up and shoot it."

For those still following at home, director Bryan Singer continues to ramble on nonsensically when asked about doing a potential follow up to "Superman Returns."

The following is from a new interview with Total Film magazine when Singer was asked if he would be involved in the project: "I don't know, I don't know. There are still issues ... I just ... I just don't know. I don't necessarily ... I don't know. It's one of those things where ... It's so weird talking about stuff unless I'm about to ramp up and shoot it."

Meanwhile, Singer was more lucid, but still evasive, in a new interview with the Edmonton Sun newspaper.

Singer told the paper his next movie will be a sci-fi fantasy "genre" film.

"It's almost totally in place, but I can't talk about it," he said.

The Sun asked if that next movie started with an "S" (for Superman).

"I wish I could say, but I'm trying to nip it in the bud because I tend to babble when I'm interested and excited about something," he replied. "And I'm definitely in the 'interested and excited' stage -- which is definitely better than the 'What the f--- do I do next?' stage. I can tell you that science fiction and fantasy, those are the films I lined up around the block to see as a kid. Those are the films I love to make."

I thought his next project was this:

Bryan Singer Eyeing Freedom Formula
Source: Variety
March 24, 2009

New Regency has acquired "Freedom Formula: Ghost of the Wasteland," an adaptation of the Radical Publishing comic book series that will be developed as a potential directing vehicle for Bryan Singer, reports Variety. 20th Century Fox will distribute.

The comic book has a futuristic premise in which fighter jets have been replaced by pilots who battle in racing exo-suits. The protagonist is a genetically engineered racer who learns his bloodline has the power to change society.

Michael Finch has been hired to write the script.

But Singer didn't confirm that his next movie starts with an "S". He basically said nothing.

Is Singer Returning to X-Men?

By Genevieve 'The Scarletscribe' Blaber on June 01, 2009

Were you underwhelmed by X-Men: The Last Stand? Did you wish that Bryan Singer had stuck around and directed the third film in the X-Men series instead of abandoning ship?

Turns out, Singer wishes he had. In an interview with Total Film, Singer admitted to this thought, "before I was watching it, during watching it, after watching it."

But this wasn't just an interview about what could have been, it's about the future of the X-Men film franchise. With the prequel X-Men Origins: Magneto in development talk has turned to Singer possibly taking over the project. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner has expressed her desire for him to return, and Singer is "possibly" interested in it. As he explained, "I'm eternally intertwined with X-Men now. What takes an audience four hours to watch -- the first two movies -- took six years of my life. So, to not be part of it...It's a shame."

Of course, if you've seen the original X-Men film you know that Singer already gave us a quick look into Magneto's history, and he's not too keen on repeating himself. "The only thing that concerns me about Magneto is that if the prequel were to follow the track I used in X-Men, which is Magneto's history in the concentration camp, then I've lived in that work," said Singer. "I just might need to take a little break before I do something like that."

That's a shame as i was very interested in the Singer/Bale/Wahlberg collaboration. I look forward to whatever he's got lined up next nonetheless.
I'd be happy if this came true.

looks like Singer a lot of times needs ''brakes''

Since Valkyrie was such a small movie for him to take a brake

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Tell me about it. Threads are dying around here.

It also seems "Prisoners" is pretty much dead.

Its funny because a month or so ago Production Weekly twittered it was a god with Singer then retracted it.

I've mentioned that before, good thinking

As above that project is dead as a door nail.

That is a very real possibility for Singer because his production company is involved.

Singer is all over the news today.

Personally, I think it's 100% "wishful thinking" regarding Bryan doing another X-Men related project. Keep in mind, he made very similar statements regarding being interested in directing Wolverine back in late '06/early '07.

EDIT: It was right after he inked the "Pay or Play" deal with WB for the next Superman film for 2009 release and he said how 20th Century Fox approached him for Wolverine as per this publication where said news-items appeared.

If Singer came back to X-Men it would have been for Wolverine. I could still see him doing Magneto but I doubt that film will happen. Coming back for Superman though is laughable. Maybe we can just turn this forum into another Misc. Film forum because that's all we seem to be talking about these days.

These Singer quotes regarding X-Men and Superman are interesting, but he's been talking and not talking about both for years.

Yeah, I wish Singer would return to the X-Men franchise. But I doubt it would happen. Superman is just as likely at this point from him. All wishfull thinking from him.

That news isn't even remotely news.

It's just Singer rambling again.

And BTW: I don't want his paws on this new Star Trek franchise.

Hmmmmm...well he still didn't deny it being a Superman film, even if he didn't confirm it either.

I feel sorry for anybody holding out hope for another Singer directed Superman film...cause it ain't happening.
