it just blows alot that superman let alone alot of other characterrs like for example WW seem to be such dam problems from the studio. Either the scripts are not liked, or they cant decide on a direction, or for superman all the legal stuff. It just blows alot to us fans. Really wb should have been able to get a gl/ww/flash done at least during this past decade. The technology is here the audience is there and still nothing.

I love the JL cartoons and the entire DCAU, but I wouldn't bring it up as a point of reference for a plausible team-up within some realstic terms. For at least the first two seasons of the show, Superman suffered from having too little to do and Batman from being able to fight aliens off with batarangs. Even in the last part of "Secret Origins", he apparently managed to survive a unit of White Martians shooting at him and remain undercover, while everyone else -Superman included- was beaten and captured. How are you going to pass that off to an audience used to the realistic Batman Nolan did?

Hey, i didnt say it was perfect. Some times they overdid it and batman did some impossible things but other times they handled him really well. But anyway, i am ready to suspend my disbelief in his behalf in order to see him function in the JL. For example i find this one of the times when it works just right. A little bit of suspension of disbelief, but not too much, and presto: Batman is useful in the JL. Watch at 4:45. (The video doesnt allow embedding so just click on it and watch it on youtube)

Okay he lifted a giant warrior, but he could have stalled him with more realistic moves instead of lifting him. But thats an example of a scene where Batman proves to be awesome even without superpowers.
And no Clark, Bats couldnt have beaten Kalibak when it took YOU one STAS episode to beat him.

By not having the JL Batman be the Nolan Batman.

I always wanted a more canon version of Batman because i feel that Nolan is suffocating the franchise with his realism. I am not asking for something too unrealistic, but something along the levels of realism of BTAS would be just fine. That version of Batman could work in the JL.
After this great Batman origin, it would be a pity to reboot and continuing in this fashion wont be viable for long since they will run out of realistic material to adapt.
So what i propose is that just like Nolan reset the tone from BB to TDK, maybe they could reset the tone and level of realism after Nolan and keep the continuity going.

Donner....again? Who are you getting these rumors from, specifically? Forgive my skepticism....and by no means am I commenting on your job...but if various movie news publications say nothing about this, but some freelance Time-Warner marketing hires talk about work already being done on it...well.....

Plus....don't know how they'd feel about hiring you again if you leaked information that they're trying to keep under wraps.

And again, one or two characters in a movie about just them as opposed to five of them..... It's one thing if they all had the same kind of tactical uniform, like in Xmen or FF, but I think the JL characters are much more dependent on their individual costumes, and the nature of those costumes grouped together in live action may expose their...'costume-ness'...if you will, in live action. Something a comic-fan may be exited about just in principle, but would need some sort of rationality for general viewers beyond just being a movie about superheroes.

i doubt we will have anything soon. From everything we know we are long ways off from things. Sure things could change at a flip of a hat. But with how things been. I dont think we will have anything any time soon. Do i wish we had something going now sure, but with all the issues right now it just doesnt seem like it will be.

There is no need for a rationale for the costumes. Each hero wears his own costume.
As for the rationale behind the movie, its the same as the rationale behind the Avengers. A big team up to face a bigger threat. Like Fury says in the IM2 Comicon footage, Tony cant do everything by himself.

Thats a lot of luck they need to have. We don't even know if Marvel is going to be able to get avengers out because its so dependent on thor and captain america both doing well, which there isnt any way of knowing.

I actually think we will get a JL film once the rights issue with the family & WB is resolved. Once that is resolved, the production on the film will move quickly.

Ditto except for one thing.
They dont need to adapt each member in his own movie before they make a JL one. For example i dont think that a WW film would be very successful, so they can simply introduce her in the JL. Or in a teamup movie, like a "SM-BM-WW:Trinity" movie.

That's the tough nut to crack. Obviously, you could go with uniforms across the board like Xmen or FF....but would it be worth it if Wonder Woman was wearing the exact same thing as Flash and GL, etc.? That's why I'd rather it be CG animation and they can keep their costumes. Or make it a very stylized live-action so we're looking at a more fantastical world from the outset, and make every setting that we see the actual heroes in fantasy-like, even in an urban environment....anti-realism, if you will...but not like Sin City or Spirit...more in the vein of Sky Captain, but not set in the 30's etc. That way, the costumes will be more apt to the overall visual impact of things...their almost mythological presence, if you will....rather than something with particular function that can't be addressed with attire that's more realistic.

That might be a tough one too with Thor and his winged helmet/cape, and Capt. America, etc. Again, it all has to do with the setting. Somewhat like doing a live-action Scooby Doo or Bullwinkle....make the live-action world more cartoonish so you're not going "...a talking dog?", etc....but with a more serious tone for a group of superheros.

So let me get this straight. WB decided not to come out with a sequel to Superman Returns, which was a tentacle of the Donnerverse, because it underperformed. Now you're claiming they are thinking of bringing the very man back whose story they are trying to ignore and veer away from.

Yeah, that's the point. He's barely a director now, and he was always more of a producer anyway. Nothing about the guy makes me think he wants to make movies.
