-The daily planet and metropolis are destroyed in the final battle, but everything is magically ok when clark is ridding his bike without glasses though the city to the daily planet.
-Why does that 18,000 year old scout ship contain a super suit with his family crest on it?
-Why does zod want to terraform earth? why not any other planet?
-how did Clark get a job at the daily planet, when he has no experience or college back round or anything?
-Superman told the general he was 33 years old and grew up in Kansas.......and you will never find out where he hangs his cape.
I agree with all of these.
Ill ad the camera work in the film made my brain want to implode. The constant zooming, extreme closeups, swooping all over the place shots got so tiresome. The best shots were the emotional ones where the camera actually took the time to let us take in the frame - like Kal-El in his costume hugging his mother. <---- That means more to me than 1000 collapsing buildings.
Krypton is a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed what I was seeing when the story focused on the PEOPLE. When it became a FX extravaganza, I wondered if I was watching Star Wars Episode 3 1/2.
I liked Zod, Jor-El and Faora. I thought Cavill did a really decent job. Lois was eh, for me, but she usually is.
Agree with previous comments about Superman reveal not being a worldwide moment of awe = fail.
Dont like that Jor-El essentially "created Superman". This shoudl be Kal-El choice.. of how he wants to present himself to the people of earth. I would have preferred Kal making choices like wearing his fathers Kyrpton clothes to honor him... choosing red for the cape to represent his homeworlds sun... blue for adapted Earth... something that gives the suit meaning to Kal-El instead of Jor-El saying "Heres your supersuit son"
Pa Kents death was stupid. I get him not wanting Clark to reveal himself, but it was just poorly executed.
Some very choppy editing, especially in the first 1/3.
This film needed more color.
Gummy people fights. How are we supposed to care abotu what we're seeing when our eyes are constantly working to keep up with the action onscreen?
More characterization, less action.
This film seemed to be the opposite of Superman Returns which was all melodrama and no action, while Im afraid I have to agree with what others said... this film lacks heart, fun, and charm. There is some emotion, but Im not sure how to explain this.. it comes more from our love of the character, not from what is unfolding onscreen. Characterization is lacking.
Id place it about even with Superman Returns...or about the same level as Captain America.
