What are your Gripes/Concerns with the project?

This movie should have been done in the form of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Or not.

Using the CGI style of Advent Children would have been a much better choice as it could retain the style of the series.

The whole point of making this movie was to have a live action Dragonball. That's where the money is at with this franchise right now. We've been the animated route for years, so doing a CGI movie would've drawn only a fraction of the fanbase.

What sort of fan does not go to see a product of their which they are originally a fan? Did only a fraction Final Fantasy fans (well, of the seventh game) only buy AC because it was not live action?

And even so, right now the film hardly resembles the Dragonball I fell in love with but that does not mean I will at least see it once before passing full judgement but as it looks now, things are not turning out for the best.

CGI Dragonball? Buy the video games. That's all I need.

Dragonball has already had a number of animated feature-lengthed releases throughout the years. So applying a new medium that is still animation (CG), would've only warranted a direct-to-DVD feature, like AC.

Enough people are interested in L-A DB (fans and non-fans alike), that it's going to rise to be a boxoffice hit. The producers know this.

You can't really do that with a direct-to-DVD movie. The marketing is never sufficient.

i think a majority of the fans wanted a live-action

Live action is too limited for a series like Dragonball, though. Not to mention Dragonball has always had one real incarnation unlike American comics in which switching to a live action medium is much easier.

Whatever, I'm still waiting to see whether or not this can be done.

wow i don't know if you guys know it but at ign.com the most popular topics or things have been pretty much related to dragonball.

I'm veryconcerned this movie will be no longer than 85 minutes.

Unfortunately you have to live with a movie that long. Pretty much every fox action movie is of that length.

Another reason why it will be short film is because they are releasing it against clone wars & tropic thunder and they would want to get as many shows as possible and that depends on the running time so expect it to be fairly short movie around 85-95 minutes.

Exactly, the shorter the movie the more showing

but transformers was pretty long

Transformers was the sole release of July 1st. It had zero competition aka no big movie or even small movie was released against it.

Dragonball does not have the same luxury.

I wouldn't mind 90-100 minutes as long as those 90-100 minutes are action-packed and badass.

Then hopefully they'll take their time on a sequel, and make it 120+ minutes (hopefully more.)

Ideally, I see a DB movie at least 120 minutes long. Considering that its Fox, if we get 100 minutes thats alot. I'm thinking 85 minutes is what we'll get.

my biggest gripe/complain about DB...

NO MOTHER****ING FOOTAGE, GOOD....i repeat GOOD PICS, NOTHING! NO TEASER, TEASER POSTER....NOTHING!

**kills self in epic fashion**

Yeah, and I hate how Bond22 and GI Joe's first set pics are of extraordinary detailed quality... and we keep getting cell phone pics.

how hard is it to bring a good camera to set?

if we dont get a damn amazingly epic 2 h 20 minute DB movie after all this anticipation, waiting, and godamned anger...

illl

illlllll...

**calls for a strike team to take fox down**:boba: :boba: :boba:

i'm expecting this movie to be the standard Fox 90 mins.

IMO, no way its only 90 minutes.. people have wanted this for years, i dont think they would make it 90 minutes. at least it will be 1 hour 50 minutes, IMO. im thinking Fox is gonna want this to be a huge franchise for them.

The script has been estimated to be 100 minutes by a website. It'll be around 90-110 minutes.
