Transformers What did you hate about this movie?

If I was going to have to sit through another scene with Frenzy, I was going to vomit. It was cool and funny the first couple times, but after he loses his head (and regenerates, yet Jazz and Bumblebee cant regenerate. Kinda lame) he should have been out of the picture.

I agree with someone else in this thread in the fact that Turturro was better as a serious agent rather than as a dumbfounded moron. That got old reallllll fast.

And what's up with cutting out the Bumblebee/Barricade fight?!?! Anyone catch how they made the villain a Ford Mustang? Tell me that isn't a subliminal message...

Just saw the movie last night, didn't find Frenzy as annoying as everyone else. The reason he regenerated was becaused he touched the allspark before it shrunk down. If you did see the movie it explained how it gives life, which obviously after seeing the movie can repair it as well. Turturro was annoying in most of the scenes. As far as the Mustang being a villain, I thought that idea as well but that could just be both of us seeing something that wasn't necessarily intended.

The thing I hated about the movie was lack of Decepticon dialogue and action. Don't remember his name, but one of the first few people to post a review around the time of the premier. He was full of ****, he went on to say "Oh my god! When you see the scenes with Starscream your going to be constantly saying Oh my god or Holy ****" 99% of what Starscream did was in the damn tv spots. Overall I really liked the film but Im crossing my fingers for an extended cut on DVD.......what happened to Barricade at the end?:csad:

i liked the movie ALOT

but there are things i didnt like.. it doesnt destroy my view of the movie though

I agree with alot of the stufff in this thread

-some cheesyness(dialogue, frenzy walkin in plain sight)
-disappearing bots( mountain dew machine, barricade, etc.)
- sudden intro and death of decepticons(sans blackout, frenzy and barricade)
- cut fight between bumblebee and barricade
- jazz's death(frenzy gets head cut off doesnt die)
- scorponok takes shells from A-10 doesnt die yet the hero boy sliding on the bike kills blackout with two rounds from a hand cannon
- optimus's care for humans MORE than transformers (sellout)
- optimus uses light sword to kill bonecrusher but not others
- i thought the cube was like the matrix(transformers animated movie??) and when optimus assimilates it doesnt it make him STRONGER??
- no Soundwave!:cmad:

i liked ironhide's distaste for humans.. he's just like a regular military demo.. wants to blow ISH up anything but autobots... and it makes it real... obviously there would be resentful aliens toward us and not wana help us..

-The fights were to close-up
- Scorpnok just vanished
- Megatron vs. Prime was a weak fight
- Megatron was defeated to easily

Yeah ok...lol do you not find it funny that, with a movie that was, in your opinion, ruined in one fell swoop, that others feel 100% exactly the opposite? Sure, if a movie is bad, and there are some that disagree saying "it wasn't that bad, it was somewhat enjoyable" thats one thing, but there are people out there who feel so strongly in the opposite of what you are thinking that your remark really makes me seem to think that you are just a hater of sorts. I mean, come on, in the cinema I was in the movie got an applause and standing ovation for gods sake. That doesn't sound like a movie that a bunch of people saw that was ruined.

What the HELL!?!?!

Are you the OPINION police????

The thread asks a question and I answered it. I've been a TF fan since I was BORN. What the hell are you doing coming into a thread and calling someone a -hater- for giving their opinion while answering a damn question?

I feel -you're- the hater. You so loved this movie as a blind action fan that you will attack Anyone who feels different. **** outta here.

Movie was ruined in my eyes. Coulda been done leagues better. End of Story.

1. The Megan Fox hotwired a towtruck using a method that hasn't been possible to do since the early 1960's and audiences still buy it today.

- the fights were to in your face and hard to tell what was happening.
- the "car commerical" type scenes even though some of them fit in well.

AWESOME MOVIE THOUGH! :wow:

It was just another Michael Bay Film with turning Cameras, music on every scene that makes it too melodramatic and corny, because he does not know how to direct actors to carry a scene instead of the music which becomes irritating and boring. It's was funny, but it was too much comedy that destroy the tone of the film and sense of danger. If the director doesn't take it seriously the people won't. I think it was a cheap move. I wasn't connected to the characters, it felt like i was going from scene to scene just watching clips. At the end I didn't know who was fighting who because their wasn't a close on the Emblems. Which would have help! The sense of danger and caring was gone. They should have watched the Terminator to duplicate the scene of danger. Transformers the movie had a more dramatic tone than that! That's sad. People are saying it the Best Michael Bay film, it was just a Michael Bay film about the Transformers nothing more. They only that made the movie was Shia Labouf and the Special Effects, The writing was unfocused. Hopefully they realize this and their will be a better sequel. Hoping Gi Joe is better!

Also, she drove backward. What woman can drive backward?

:down

They should have shown more cyberton...

and the cybertron they showed looked gay, it looked like mordor from lord of the rings, very unlike the ball of metal structures seen in practically every incarnation of the Tformers.

All the folks who are up in arms about Starscream...did you catch the part where he shot Megatron in the back?

It's like this:

Jurassic Park owns Transformers just as Apocalypto owns 300.

They are all virtually different films.

I seriously take what this guy says with a grain of salt.

Serously this guy LOVED:

Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four 2

and HATED

All the Spider-Man movies (along with the Evil Dead movies)
All the X-men movies

so if you're likings are similar...then you will probably have similar tastes as far as Transformers goes. But I find his "likings" pretty singular and very suspect.

edit...my buzz is soo gone.

I don't to start any flame wars, but as one of the biggest movie fans on the Hype, that right there kills all credibility to judge, IMO.

-Scorpionok dissappears, no explaination...
-Same with Barricade
-Frenzy got annoying, the way he talked and stuff... And giggled.. wtf?

- Bumblebee pissing on Turturro, c'mon!
- Not enough conversations/oneliners/whateva between the Transformers.

What really pissed me off was that Jar Jar Binks crap.

They should've cut all that out, christ. I want to see Optimus Prime and that police cruiser fight, but noooo.. we just cut back to him already dead, and spend hours on that ******ed mini bot.

It never showed Barricade dead, explain? Everywhere I have read about the movie said he didn't die, I never seen him dead anywhere. He was kickass in the movie and if he did die then that is pretty wasteful of a great character. Also pissed me off how Bumble Bee beat him in the first fight.

Here is what I found about him in the movie

Barricade is one of the main Decepticons in the film; he hunts Sam Witwicky, before engaging in a fight with Bumblebee which leaves him wounded. He is later seen alongside Bonecrusher in the freeway chase, but is not seen again throughout the reminder of the movie. It is possible that he may have survived, along with Starscream and possibly Scorponok

Now it did say he was killed by Prime in the comic book, but comic book's always differer from the movie and are changed around. It really suck if they killed him off screen and I missed his dead body, that has made me sad haha. He was a kickass character. I had fun driving my 05 Mustang GT home and pretending it was Barricade. Wish I had a Saleen S281 though

I loved it from start to finish. I do kinda wish it wasn't so fast paced though... the fight scenes were a little tough to follow because when two bots fought each other, it all blended in into one big mess...

but like I said, I loved the film.

They get the amazing Keith David to voice Barricade and all he gets to say is "ARE YOU LADIESMAN217?!" a couple of times? What a waste of talent there.

It was Jess Harnell.
Keith David voiced Barricade on the game only.
Yeah, I hated that, too. Had Keith David voiced Barricade in the movie, you could rest assured that he would've had ALOT more dialogue.

Oh what, really? That blows, I love Keith David...Barricade was still a badass though, for his short amount of screentime.

I have a question to something I absolutely hated!

Howcome the All-Spark, whenever it came in contact with anything it only created BAD/EVIL robots!!????? This bugged the hell out of me! The All-Spark ONLY created psycho robots that stood up and began shooting!... why not GOOD ones also?? Prime says the All-Spark is the lifesource within all transformers, but in the movie it only created evil beeings! This wasn't explained and it sucked.

I think this poster explains it well enough:

I have a theory about why the Allspark was making Decepticons...ALL of our modern technology was reverse engineered from Megatron, so all the things it pumped life into were in a way, a part of Megatron. Perhaps there is something about his physiology that makes him naturally aggressive?

Prime seemed to show up pretty late for the downtown fight. Perhaps in a deleted scene Barricade tried to ram him and they got into it for a little while?

Only thing I didn't like was some of the cheesy things the robots said/did.
Don't forget the original cartoon had some corny lines too

"As the earthlings would say, lay it on me man"

"fat chance, fathead!"

"Am I drooling correctly, Spike?"

all of them spoken by Optimus Prime.

Yeah,...in 1986! It's 21 years later. People said corny crap like that back then, so it was acceptable,...and let's face it, Transformers "the cartoon", was primarily for kids. It was cool,...but it was primarily for kids. There weren't really mainstream edgey cartoons back then. I know, I remember the majority of them. But, from a live-action PG-13 movie, is this the bes we get? After more than 20 years later I expected MORE,...MUCH MORE. This movie was a complete and total let down. 2 and 1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

If you haven't seen it,...save your money,...or better yet, theater hop. Go see one movie, and if you absolutely have to see Transformers, after the first movie's done,...sneak in and watch Transformers in another theater. That way you won't have wasted your hard earned money. :down
