What do you think of Ron Paul?

If he is refreshing then we should be supporting him more. He is going to go further in the campaign then you think. If at the very least he brings up some questions then I think that is good for Americans. If his party sees there is support for him they will back him bank on it. Bill Clinton had 2% support when he started and look what happened.

When Clinton was running, the Dems saw that Bush Sr wasnt getting reelected because of 12 yrs of Republicans in power and had a good feeling that Clinton could win. Paul won't get that type of leeway. I just can't support someone who has no chance whatsoever to get into office......

Stranger things have happen before remember Kerry and Dean. Dean was the front runner and then lost it. Out of no where Kerry picked up steam. Paul is a dark horse in the GOP that could help him in the months ahead.

and neither Kerry or Dean won......I'm not saying Ron Paul isn't a good guy or that he isn't deserving.....but lets take a deep breath and take a look at reality...the power elite in this country are not going to ALLOW Ron Paul to even be in the running come election time.....

If that is the case why even vote at all...why have debates or threads over the hoopla of politics. We can't think like just don't throw in the towel.

When the nominees are selected from each party, then we'll see who is going to win.....

I think people should start researching before that. Look at how the media chooses the front runners. They give them more time in the debates and constantly call the other candidates dark horses or second tier. How are we as Americans supposed to see the wide spectrum of candidates if we are not allowed to. I haven't met one person who likes giuliani, how is he a front runner?

Look what the Democrats did to Gravel. They got him kicked off the debates because he was shaking things up too much. Why are candidates getting kicked off debates at all? What about kucinich in the last debate? They don't give him any questions of substance; they just ask him if he has ever seen a UFO. Its ridiculous. These are the guys we should be listening to.

That is the whole point....The powers that be are going to back the "safe" candidates...Paul, Kucinich, and Gravel are not "safe" candidates. I knew right when that UFO question got asked, Kucinich was done like dinner....

There has to be something done about the debates. They don't need to be on cable news channels anymore. For the moderators to set candidates up like that is unacceptable. The more and more I watch cable news channels the more and more it resembles professional wrestling.

It was a question based on a quote in a published book....how is it unacceptable??

They didn't ask him any questions that had to do with his thoughts on policy or economic conditions. They asked him an off the wall question that had to do with what? Nothing. That destroyed any credibility he had at all. I would have liked to hear his thoughts on various issues and I'm sure others would have too, but now we can't because the moderators set him up to look like a kook. I'm not taking blame off him for the statement that he made, but out of the limited number of questions why did they ask him that one. Its beneficial to no one.

In any debate, they want to loosen up the atmosphere some. Voters want to see the "human" side of the candidates so they try to ask a "fluff" question here and there and the question was asked at the very end of the debate after an hour of questions about policy and stances and issues.....Kucinich had plenty of time to address serious issues before hand

That sounds about right..Ron Paul is that one candidate that no amount of campaign finances could help him really. What actually makes him a dark horse isnt the public unaware of his campaign but the fact that hes a little to far to the left for the majority of his own party to stomach

I don't want to see the "human" side of any of the candidates in the debates. I want equal time for everyone and a list of questions that are substantial to American policy and economics. Leave those fluff questions for Barbara Walters and 20/20. I want to know stances on issues and solutions to problems during these debates.

What do you guys think of Ron Paul's stance on foreign policy.

War and Foreign Policy

The war in Iraq was sold to us with false information. The area is more dangerous now than when we entered it. We destroyed a regime hated by our direct enemies, the jihadists, and created thousands of new recruits for them. This war has cost more than 3,000 American lives, thousands of seriously wounded, and hundreds of billions of dollars. We must have new leadership in the White House to ensure this never happens again.
Both Jefferson and Washington warned us about entangling ourselves in the affairs of other nations. Today, we have troops in 130 countries. We are spread so thin that we have too few troops defending America. And now, there are new calls for a draft of our young men and women.
We can continue to fund and fight no-win police actions around the globe, or we can refocus on securing America and bring the troops home. No war should ever be fought without a declaration of war voted upon by the Congress, as required by the Constitution.
Under no circumstances should the U.S. again go to war as the result of a resolution that comes from an unelected, foreign body, such as the United Nations.
Too often we give foreign aid and intervene on behalf of governments that are despised. Then, we become despised. Too often we have supported those who turn on us, like the Kosovars who aid Islamic terrorists, or the Afghan jihadists themselves, and their friend Osama bin Laden. We armed and trained them, and now we’re paying the price.
At the same time, we must not isolate ourselves. The generosity of the American people has been felt around the globe. Many have thanked God for it, in many languages. Let us have a strong America, conducting open trade, travel, communication, and diplomacy with other nations.

Research indicates that a majority of voters like to see the candidates "humanized".....I personally don't want a guy as president who said he was "spirituall moved" after seeing a UFO....I dont care how HOT his wife is

Yeah I don't mind them humanizing candidates I just believe the debates should be left up to the issues. But that is just my opinion.

Side note: That is pretty GD weird that he said that about a UFO. I don't know how a guy so visually unappealing got with that hot of a chick. hey maybe she is one of the aliens that he saw and she is trying to infultrate the US government and use it for world domination.:wow: :woot:

She just might be......Love is blind though.....maybe Kucinich is hung like a donkey.....we really dont know.....

I don't agree with that. He does have a lot of support. He's ranked in first or in the top three in most of the straw polls.

Straw polls have proven time and time again to be horribly inaccurate.

But to answer the question, as I really did not in my last post:

My thoughts on Ron Paul: Dennis Kucinich will probably get more votes in the democratic primary than Paul will in the Republican. When you are the guy that Dennis Kucinich could beat, all the good ideas in the world mean jack. Therefore he is absolutely useless to me.

Ron Paul might have the peoples' support, but he has NO party support....so its just a matter of time before he withdraws..

Let's face it, the only who people have a real shot at this are Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. It's not like the voting polls are real, if they were, we wouldn't have the loony we have as President today. I think it's about time people start waking up, and started to accept things that are difficult to hear.

ew i hate the name Ron. i dont know who he is but if his name is Ron that's an automatic :down
