If he is refreshing then we should be supporting him more. He is going to go further in the campaign then you think. If at the very least he brings up some questions then I think that is good for Americans. If his party sees there is support for him they will back him bank on it. Bill Clinton had 2% support when he started and look what happened.
When Clinton was running, the Dems saw that Bush Sr wasnt getting reelected because of 12 yrs of Republicans in power and had a good feeling that Clinton could win. Paul won't get that type of leeway. I just can't support someone who has no chance whatsoever to get into office......
Stranger things have happen before remember Kerry and Dean. Dean was the front runner and then lost it. Out of no where Kerry picked up steam. Paul is a dark horse in the GOP that could help him in the months ahead.
and neither Kerry or Dean won......I'm not saying Ron Paul isn't a good guy or that he isn't deserving.....but lets take a deep breath and take a look at reality...the power elite in this country are not going to ALLOW Ron Paul to even be in the running come election time.....
If that is the case why even vote at all...why have debates or threads over the hoopla of politics. We can't think like just don't throw in the towel.
When the nominees are selected from each party, then we'll see who is going to win.....
I think people should start researching before that. Look at how the media chooses the front runners. They give them more time in the debates and constantly call the other candidates dark horses or second tier. How are we as Americans supposed to see the wide spectrum of candidates if we are not allowed to. I haven't met one person who likes giuliani, how is he a front runner?
Look what the Democrats did to Gravel. They got him kicked off the debates because he was shaking things up too much. Why are candidates getting kicked off debates at all? What about kucinich in the last debate? They don't give him any questions of substance; they just ask him if he has ever seen a UFO. Its ridiculous. These are the guys we should be listening to.

That is the whole point....The powers that be are going to back the "safe" candidates...Paul, Kucinich, and Gravel are not "safe" candidates. I knew right when that UFO question got asked, Kucinich was done like dinner....
There has to be something done about the debates. They don't need to be on cable news channels anymore. For the moderators to set candidates up like that is unacceptable. The more and more I watch cable news channels the more and more it resembles professional wrestling.
It was a question based on a quote in a published book....how is it unacceptable??
They didn't ask him any questions that had to do with his thoughts on policy or economic conditions. They asked him an off the wall question that had to do with what? Nothing. That destroyed any credibility he had at all. I would have liked to hear his thoughts on various issues and I'm sure others would have too, but now we can't because the moderators set him up to look like a kook. I'm not taking blame off him for the statement that he made, but out of the limited number of questions why did they ask him that one.Its beneficial to no one.

In any debate, they want to loosen up the atmosphere some. Voters want to see the "human" side of the candidates so they try to ask a "fluff" question here and there and the question was asked at the very end of the debate after an hour of questions about policy and stances and issues.....Kucinich had plenty of time to address serious issues before hand
I don't want to see the "human" side of any of the candidates in the debates. I want equal time for everyone and a list of questions that are substantial to American policy and economics. Leave those fluff questions for Barbara Walters and 20/20. I want to know stances on issues and solutions to problems during these debates.
Research indicates that a majority of voters like to see the candidates "humanized".....I personally don't want a guy as president who said he was "spirituall moved" after seeing a UFO....I dont care how HOT his wife is
Yeah I don't mind them humanizing candidates I just believe the debates should be left up to the issues. But that is just my opinion.
Side note: That is pretty GD weird that he said that about a UFO. I don't know how a guy so visually unappealing got with that hot of a chick. hey maybe she is one of the aliens that he saw and she is trying to infultrate the US government and use it for world domination.![]()
t:
Ron Paul for the win.
I don't agree with that. He does have a lot of support. He's ranked in first or in the top three in most of the straw polls.
