Anybody else think this is foreshadowing to the Bat?

You never know.

I could have sworn Lucius' line about doing fine against cats was a dead give away to Catwoman when they officially announced Anne being cast as Selina Kyle. But considering Jonah had to convince Chris to put Catwoman in TDKR, I really think it's just a neat little coincidence.

Still cool though.

That line and the rocket ship line seems to be pretty epic coincidences as Catwoman nor The Bat were probably even in the mind of Chris Nolan in regards to a sequel to TDK.

Maybe Bruce faking being hammered and calling everyone Two-Face in BB?

Well we knew Chris and Goyer wanted to use Dent in BB, but they said they couldn't do him justice with fitting him in the already tight script, so they saved him for TDK.

Completely random but I'm watching Jack White right now on History Channel buying an elephant's head on American Pickers lol

I did hear a pretty interesting bit on BOF's latest podcast about how Chris Nolan had an even different new vehicle in mind for TDKR but couldnt fit it in to the story or something so they came up with the Bat instead

What was the vehicle?

John Blake is really Talia Al Ghul in drag.

What was the vehicle?

It was something that Jett's country ass from Batmanonfilm said during his podcast from 6/21. He said that Nolan had mentioned he had an idea for a cool new vehicle, and when asked later if he was able to put that vehicle in TDKR he said no but I still have something pretty cool (which ended up being the Bat). If you go to the site and listen its about halfway through.

I don't think he was building him a rocket ship, but when Reese said that, maybe Luicius was like: "Hey, that's not a bad idea!"

I never thought of the Cat line being a reference to Catwoman .. I think Lucius was just making a joke at the absurdity of Bruce's request that the suit protect him against dogs.

Not really. I always thought Reese was kind of an idiot because a rocket ship would indicate Batman going to space. Why would Batman need to go to space?

I don't think it was the intent when writing them, but in the context of the trilogy I definitely think lines like this, "two-faced friends" and "work fine against cats" are gonna be damn nice and cool.

When the Justice League movie comes out, it might actually be handy.

:cwink:

Hyperbole? :oldrazz:

I don't think any of these things (rocket ship, cats, two-faced) were foreshadowing.

They weren't meant to be foreshadowing, but in the context of the trilogy, they will work as that.

"what are you building for him now, a rocket ship?" i too, once hearing about and seeing the Bat, thought of that line. Hell when i first heard it watching The Dark Knight for the first time, i thought maybe they would reveal something like a jet at the end of the film, because it sounded like Mr. Reese, saw a glimpse of something that looked like a "rocket ship" with its engineer similiar to the harrier jet, and other "Wacky" reality based objects like that.

i always took it as, he saw something either being built, or the plans for something that looked like a weird jet/rocket ship, and got all "nerdy" about it threatening to nark, haha

The cat line can be seen as foreshadowing in the trilogy, but the two-faced line is far-fetched.
