It's directed by Kurt Wimmer and like with Equilibrium he finds a gimmick to define his action, on this occasion it's close quarter combat and Bosworth does pretty well with this given he's not trained and the fight scenes are shot pretty well.
The big problem is that it should stick to being a straight up action, revenge thriller, instead it clumsily tries to shoehorn in social commentary on the cyclical nature of violence in the hood, and has so many double crosses it meets itself coming back.
Bruce Payne has himself a lot of fun playing the main bad guy though, the only FBI agent in history with an 80's Michael Bolton mullet and two nose rings.
