Sin City - 9/10

It's been a long time since I've seen this. I've been on a real Sin City kick lately and now having read a few of the graphic novels (I'm on Hell and Back now), and two from this film, I was worried with the translation it would be too shackled by the source material and feel stiff and lifeless, while lacking cinematic vision, which Watchmen does feel as times. Fortunately, this was adapted very well. Concise and to the point while still retaining Miller's noir feel. Paced extremely well and Rodriguez gives a life to all of these characters with the fantastic cast. Rourke, Del Toro and Stahl being the stand outs. But everybody is having fun yet taking it seriously. I am ****ing ready for A Dame To Kill For.

Is that actually happening? I thought that was one of Rodriguez's "I'll get to it or I won't" projects (coughRed Sonjacough).

It's happening in the sense that the movie has been greenlit and almost all the roles have been cast. Other than that, still up in the air.

The Fly ( 1986 ).
The film holds up pretty well.
The last acid vomit scene is still very effective.

The Possession. What a bore. 4/10
