Reservoir Dogs (1992)
I have been going through and watching the entirety of Quentin Tarantino's filmography as of late, what with it being all on Netflix. Before this, the only films of his I saw were
Pulp Fiction and
Django Unchained, both of which I loved, and after seeing this one, I can safely say that Tarantino is in my Top 5 film directors, possibly even #1. This film is the perfect length, has an extremely taught screenplay, and makes the absolute most out of its minimalist setting, which is extremely impressive for a director's debut. I love it when directors can do a lot with so little, and QT is one of the best examples of that out there today.
