The Babadook. Surprisingly, it lived up to the hype.

The Bourne Legacy, better than I remembered.

One of the greater horror movies I've seen recently. There is some really unsettling imagery at some points and the film does a good job of maintaining that dreaded atmosphere. Performances were also incredible. I'll be watching this again soon.

9/10

The Goonies, Tank Girl and Gremlins. I needed a laugh after yesterday.

This is definitely one of the most uncomfortable movies I have ever watched. Watching this movie is like watching a train wreck; that what you're seeing is terrible, but you can't look away. I watched the trailer to this movie years after seeing it, and lo and behold, the background sound to the trailer is the sound of a train that's about to crash. It's very fitting.

While watching this movie is indeed like watching a train wreck, I don't intend that to be a poor review of the film. It's a painfully effective and well-made movie.

For the younger Hypesters out there, file this film under the "Too Uncomfortable & Awkward To Watch With Your Parents" category. :oldrazz:

Jurassic World

I thought it exceeded my expectations by a lot. I didn't expect them to capture the same feel as the original but they did for me. As much as I love Lost World this feels the like the real sequel. Chris Pratt was great and the kids weren't as annoying as I thought they would be. And that last 30 minutes was gold, GOLD, they made sure you get some badass Dino action. If there was anything I thought didn't work, it would be that divorce subplot, it never felt anything important. Overall, it's absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to see it again and again.
9.5/10

The Bucket List. Fun in a goofy way with some good serious sad moments. Best thing Reiner's done in ages.

I actually liked TLW&3 and find those underrated but this one is by far the best sequel!

Get Hard

This film has bigger plot holes than every other movie combined, but I laughed several times. Is not Ferrell's best, but he is the one holding this thing together.
A solid "meh".

Blade 1 & 2
It's been years since I've seen either movie. Forgot how good both movies were. Also, I had no clue Guillermo del Toro directed Blade 2.

Yeah, those movies were ahead of its time. If the first Blade, with some minor changes in the last act, was released today, I bet it would be a hit.

Shaun Of The Dead (2004): Saw that this was on TV, so I watched it (because there's never a bad time to watch this flick). It's one of my favorite movies ... I don't know what else I can say about it. :)

A Trip To The Moon (1902): Both the black & white and the colored versions of this movie are on Netflix now. It's on record as the first science fiction movie ever, so it's easily one of the most important movies ever made, in my opinion. It's good stuff. Then again, I enjoy silent movies a lot, so I may be biased ...

Amelie (2001): First time I have ever seen this movie. I really, really liked it. It's a quirky, whimsical, and optimistic film. It's a movie that focuses on the little things in life, and I like that kind of stuff. This movie definitely lived up to the hype I've been hearing for so many years. :)
