Get Hard

I didn't find this funny. At all. 0/10

Jupiter Ascending

This wasn't as horrible as I expected but could have been a lot better with a stronger cast. 4.5/10

The Hero and the Terror

It's a 1988 Chuck Norris movie. Unusually for a 80's action movie, he's not the unstoppable, unemotional killing machine but a man who just barely manages to survive his fight against "the Terror," a massive serial killer who he does not kill but ends up in a psyciatric jail before escaping to again haunt Chuck's character.

Not a great movie but it was interesting to see a different take on the normal action hero trope of the time.

Where the Wild Things Are. Magnificent.

The Loft. Takes too long to get going, and then the script throws in too many developments and the whole thing's schematic. A good idea buried under bad execution.

Careful What You Wish For. Basically Wild Things without all the scumbag characters. Better than a direct-to-dvd thriller usually is, but indifferently directed, and the twist isn't set up well. Joe Jonas is a pretty decent actor in this.

Fright Night 1985

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Oliver & Company (1988)

Captain America Winter Soldier

Pretty good. Jean Reno and Natalie Portman are great and Gary Oldman was hilariously over the top. EVERYONE!! :funny:

8/10

Duck, You Sucker (1971)

Underrated Sergio Leone masterpiece and the last western film he directed. Although this is the second film in the trilogy ("Once Upon a Time in the West" and "Once Upon a Time in America") it's very enjoyable on it's own. James Coburn is ridiculously cool as an Irish demolitions expert in Mexico during the revolution. Rod Steiger also gives a fantastic performance as Juan. Leone does an incredible job of capturing the brutality of the Mexican Civil War and the action throughout is genuinely epic especially the explosions. The train wreck explosion and subsequent battle are an insane spectacle and the death of Coburn's character is absolutely tragic.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)

Still my favourite animated film of all time.

Thunderbirds are GO (1966)

I was aware of the TV series growing up but this is the first time I sat through the film and wow it's a lot of fun. The model work in this movie is nothing short of masterful. The attention to detail on the sets and vehicles is insane. I can't even begin to imagine the countless hours that went into creating these marvels. The voice acting is pretty solid, the story itself is entertaining and the action is exciting. The use of close-ups of actual hands throughout the film always makes me laugh for some reason. The bizarre dream sequence with the musical number had me dying of laughter. I absolutely loved the Mars set and the creepy looking rock snake aliens. The scene where one first opens its eye looked fantastic.
