Daddy's Home 2

The Dad (Mark Wahlberg) and StepDad (Will Ferrell) from Daddy's Home return in Daddy's Home 2 just in time for the holidays but this time around their dads Mel Gibson as Kurt Mayron, Dusty's father.John Lithgow as Don Whitaker, Brad's father stop by for some family turmoil,spiked egg nog and hijinks.

The extremes the set's of fathers and son's have, one being a huge divide and disconnect between Kurt and Dusty,and the over the top loving one between Don and Brad give the movie a good foundation to start on and most of the jokes work,especially when Kurt doles out gruff advice or goes over Dusty and Brad's heads with his grandchildren.
I admit i cant recall another time in which i laughed at a scene,and also cringed and questioned my own amusement while watching it.
There is a stand out scene that got a lot of laughs from me because it actually reminded me of a situation i got into with an ex girlfriend.

I knew 90% of the pratfalls would involve Ferrell and some of this has a repetitive feel to it,and some long joke moments definitely dont add up to much.
The women in the film Linda Cardellini as Sara Whitaker, Brad's wife, Dusty's ex-wife
and Alessandra Ambrosio as Karen Mayron, Dusty's wife are given slightly more to do this time around

There is a great scene involving a certain popular movie star that was very funny and this is definitely a couple of points better than last weeks Bad Mom's Christmas

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

Saw 1-3

Haven't seen them in years and wanted to revisit them because of Jigsaw. I had forgotten how legitimately great those first three films were. Shame that the quality of the franchise fell off sharply afterwards.

LOST CITY OF Z
QUALITY = 9/10
JOY = 6/10

It's a very well made movie, the first hour or so got me sleepy more than once, I appreciate the joy of watching movies in portions to better appreciate the movie. Now that I know things get better, I can hope that this will be one of the movies I enjoy more the more I watch it.

ENTER THE DRAGON
QUALITY = 7.5/10
JOY = 9.5/10

The movie that inspired the first Mortal Kombat game and started a phenomenon of a game series, I gotta love it. It also helps that it is a good and highly enjoyable movie.
I noticed this once that it has some questionable things, so it's a drop in quality.

BIRTH OF THE DRAGON
JOY = 7/10

After knowing what is it I will get, it's not really a bad movie, I liked it quite a bit.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
QUALITY = 8/10
JOY = 9/10

Has some hokey stuff, and some of the effects look outdated like they belong to an early 2000s movie. Film shortcomings don't stop the story from being a very good one, or a highly enjoyable movie.

T2 Trainspotting (2017)

Not nearly as cool as the original but an interesting sequel with a satisfying enough conclusion. I haven't read the source material to compare it though.

Life (2017)

Interesting premise with decent casting, eerie mood and some tense moments. While it doesn't necessarily add anything new or original to the genre it uses the existing tropes well enough to be entertaining. I'm not a big fan of CGI but the evolution of the alien from single celled organism to downright scary monster made for some disturbing and cool looking visuals.

WOLVERINE: ORIGINS (2009)
QUALITY = 4/10
JOY = 7/10

The physics, those effects, I have to share this magnificent footage with you all.

Never has a movie aged better. One that belongs to this world. *Sarcastic stare of pseudo admiration*

I caught a matinee of this with my MoviePass. It was definitely better than I expected.
