DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
QUALITY ON ITS OWN= 8.5/10
QUALITY WITHIN THE CANON = 6/10
JOY = 8.5/10
I decided to separate its quality as a piece of canon from the quality as its own movie, I should probably bring up my score this way for all the movies that were released after the original trilogy, cause this is when things get messy.
In the world of the sentinels program that started in 1973, there is no room for diplomat Hank McCoy, they should be struggling against sentinels before the events of the very first movie in this series. Magneto should be dead instead of being released from his tank in the pentagon (that's an issue the movie actually has within itself) to aid his fellow mutants against these giant robots. Trask is a white midget after being Bill Dukes. William Stryker should have no reason to send his son to Xavier's school, or lead the mutant squad that includes Logan and his older brother.
Here's how I rank all that I've rewatched so far:
- X-Men United (love it)
- First Class (love it)
- Days of Future Past (I highly enjoy it, but it's overrated)
- The Last Stand (really like it)
- The Wolverine
- X-Men (I like it)
- Origins: Wolverine (it's one of those enjoyably stupid movies)
Next stop: Deadpool
You don't need to watch it as part of the X-Men movie marathon, but what the heck, let's give it another shot, and watch it since it's in the same universe.
