It was honestly better the second time.

Re-Animator

Another film that finally took me this long to watch for the first time. I really loved it, the effects play a great part in this movie. It's gruesome to watch at times and the HP Lovecraft story was great. I only wish that this was a little longer with a bigger plot.

How is Akira one of the most important movies ever???

Alex Cross

AlexCross2012Poster.jpg

Alex Cross is not as bad as some critics have stated ,but its no suspenseful masterpiece
either. It has always been hard for me to view Tyler Perry as a romantic lead but
Perry is okay as Dr Alex Cross who is able to define a crime scene in seconds
and i have always liked Edward Burns who portrays his partner Tommy Kane
their banter is one of the highlights of the film.
The villain Picasso who likes pain is interesting,Matthew Fox got into shape for the part
and adds odd wide eyed and facial tics to the character but even with all of this
Picasso is underwritten.
There are some good family moments with Cicely Tyson as Cross's grandmother, Nana Mama,
but other moments that are supposed to be emotional and moving fall flat due to some muted acting.
The early action sequences are fun, some unexpected turns in the script are good, but im not sure why
Director Rob Cohen decided to shoot a major fight scene so murky and shaky its as if it was shot
during a brownout and an earthquake.
There is a rumor that the next Alex Cross film is in pre production if so i hope the villain is more fleshed out
and the Director actually wants the audience to see the action sequences.

End of Watch

End_of_Watch_Poster.jpg

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña are equally outstanding as Los Angeles Police Department officers
who work in South Central Los Angeles in End of Watch
Gritty, moving, violent and humorous at times EOW is never boring and is as unpredictable as each crime
scene the duo enters. The good definitely outweighs the cliched and stereotypical moments in the film.
Great supporting work from David Harbour, Natalie Martinez, Anna Kendrick
and America Ferrera.
The leads should look for plenty of awards in a few months.

Paranormal Activity 4 - 4/10

They are running out of ideas and I thought the ending was pure crap. This is coming from someone who enjoyed the first 3.

Nightmare On Elm Street - 9/10

Watching all these on blu-ray, a classic.

Pearl Jam 20, great documentary if your into the grunge scene 10/10

Karate Kid (2010)

It's fun, but since it's my first view I won't rush to give it a score
I prefer some stuff in the original, but this remake feels -in more ways- a more entertaining movie
The chase reminded me of The Incredible Hulk chase in Brazil
Paranormal Activity 4 - 4/10
4 for 4, poetic

I love this movie so, so much. It's a whole hell of a lot of fun. 8/10.

Resident Evil: Damnation

Snow White and the Huntsman

Oasis of the Zombies (1983) AKA: The Treasure of the Living Dead

Godzilla (1954) - original Japanese version

Drag Me to Hell

First time I watched it. Really enjoyed it

I don't usually like anime but that's one of the best. It's really helped that genre's popularity.

Agreed, for me, anime usually excels in concepts, but falls in execution, Akira hits all it's marks.

Savages

They nearly had the new True Romance on their hands. But they bollocksed it with the ending. Worth a watch for Del Toro and Travolta owning the screen every second they're in the film. I do take issue with the lack of **** in the film too. You'd think Oliver Stone and Don Winslow teaming up for a film, that the sex scenes wouldn't all be fully clothed.

Munich

First viewing in seven years or so. I still think this is a superb film. I do wish Spielberg would drop the schmaltz and go dark more often (But not too often, Tin Tin was da bomb yo!). Having read Robopocalypse, this is the kind of approach Spielberg needs to take for his adaptation, it's not a friendly story at all.
