John Carter (2012)

Had low expectations, since the reviews been very shifting, and the audience didn't seem to care about this film. Well, whilst perhaps having some flaws I found it very enjoyable, and although Kitsch might'nt be a superior actor he did better than expected from what I've read from all the bashers on teh interwebs.

It's a sci-fi/fantasy story rooting from the early 20th century, not an Ingmar Bergman flick. Still less chlichéd and more fun than Avatar IMHO, which it erroneously have been compared to.

I thought it was a really intense , disturbing , and scary. They did a great job with the make-up and effects for the mutants. I think it's good for a remake. I didn't recognize Aaron Stanford ( Pyro from Xmen) at first. He has a decent arc that's similar to Straw Dogs. It could of been better if more time was spent at the nuclear testing ghost town. Also if we knew a little more about the mutant characters. Some of it's depressing but I still thought it was good.
