I didn't see a thread on it, but might as well ask: Anyone see Chernobyl Diaries by chance? Was it good or is it worth skipping?

'Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol'

Really wasn't expecting much with this one, but shocked at how much I enjoyed it.

I don't think Wolverine Origins is a good film but I do find it watchable. It has it's moments.

I liked the 'bromance' between Chou and Rogen in Green Hornet.

Batman the movie (1966)

This is a fantastic comedy and captures the greatness of the television series. Such a ridiculous plot but I'm sold on the performances. I wish there had been another.

The Dark Knight

I've seen this numerous times but it never gets old. I can't wait for the TDKR

The reviews are awful across the board. I'd recommend a rental because it will be awkward if the entire audience hates this movie.

Men in Black 3 - 8/10

With a weaker start and some inconsistancies (though none of it is really bad), the film completely makes up for it when we get to the bulk of the plot. And I liked the time travel plot. I liked how they addressed the would be plot holes. I know I was bad mouthing this film before, but it's a good thing they had to put the film on hiatus to fix and finish the script. Or else this could have been a jumbled mess. Thankfully, it wasn't. Very clear and concise, so the fun that this series has was never lost within it.

And Josh Brolin as K: Perfection. He was spot on. There were times when I thought I was looking at a young Tommy Lee Jones. The mannerisms, the voice, everything. He captured everything about Jones to a T, or K. This film has what the first film had an the second lacked. Human emotion and heart with a good story to follow the characters on. Especially the third act. It could be the best finale of the three. I was so surprised by how much it got to me as I didn't expect this film to delve into the things it did. But it made for a very nice finish to these characters, if this is indeed the end.

Better than the second one? Hell yes. As good as the first? No, but that's not a bad thing. This film is good on its own and did what it was suppose to do and was a nice satisfying slice of apple pie.

Great post Doctor Jones! I will definitely have to check out Men in Black 3. I am even in the running to see Madagascar 3 believe it or not. I liked those movies, LOL. Last movie I saw was Avengers. It was really good. My favorite character in this was the Hulk even though most of the The Hulk movies sucked. Mark Ruffalo did a really good job and that line "puny god" was spot on, and with that little jab at Thor for payback!

Well, I went on another Jeremy Renner kick, and checked out 28 Weeks Later.

What I liked.
Acting was good, characters were decent.
Pretty good jumpy moments.
The score is fantastic.

What I didn't like.
Some of the outcome, and the overall plot. Compared to some of my favorite zombie movies, this one just doesn't compare.

The Dictator

Funniest movie I've seen in a long time.

Men in Black III: 3.5/5

An enjoyable film. Definitely better than Men in Black II, but still not as funny as the first Men in Black. It's worth the price of admission just for Josh Brolin's great work as Young Kay. The ending was surprisingly touching as well.

The Girl with The David Fincher Tattoo

I think I liked this one a little more than the original. The first did do some things a little better, like not having some of the extraneous stuff that this suffered from (The tattoo parlour in particular). Fincher unleashed his inner Roman Polanski, the story in all it's iterations has a lot of themes common Polanski's films, sexual crimes, misogyny, an isolated wandering protagonist, so Fincher took some queues from him visually. Of course overall visually it's amazing. It's Fincher.

Rooney Mara's Salander feels more sympathetic than Rapace's iteration, not necessarily saying the performance was better, but more-so the script. Combining two characters from the first into one, served to add some loneliness to Salander. Mara's Lisbeth genuinely wishes people would accept her and be friends with her, Rapace's was a *****ebag. In fact Steve Zalian and David Fincher are smart to use the characters sadness as an excuse for the completely improbable and dumb May-December romance.

One thing I'll agree with that I've heard, is that some of the music sounds like off cuts from The Social Network. It does.

Good stuff.

Avatar. I've avoided this movie for a long time, thinking it was Dances with Wolves, with blue aliens. I was right.

Nonetheless, several times throughout the movie, I forgot I was watching CGI. The only other movie where that happened before was Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Visually Avatar is a stunning movie. Wish I had seen it in 3-D, now. Storywise, it was a retread. I wish the story had been as groundbreaking as the special effects/CGI.
