The Amazing Spider-Man When and how should Gwen Stacy die? - Part 1

Maybe In the beginning of TASM 2, They show Norman taking the Serum and him killing his wife while Harry see's it, and goes to school all depressed and becomes Peters new best friend

While at Oscorp there is Max and him getting his power and him being mad blah blah blah

*insert Interesting Story to go with it here*
Skip to Electro and Spider-man fighting in New York City when suddenly spidey sense goes off and he sees something flying away with someone in their arms(Gwen) heading to the bridge

*Insert interesting story on how Norman Osborn really knows who Peter Parker is*

Quickly Finishes off Electro *insert heroic spidey music* and goes after goblin just to see Gwen being thrown off the bridge ... and i'm pretty sure you know what happens from there

I don't think she should die at all, too predictable... boring... everyone's expecting it...

NOT this.

So people complain about things being too different from the comics, but if they happen to be faithful, its predictable?

Yeah, everyone except people who don't read comics.

Which is, you know, the majority of people who will see these movies.

I guess Bane breaking Batman's back was boring and predictable?

This, this, like a thousands times this. I just don't understand people anymore. :o

Comic book fans will be anticipating the moment throughout the whole movie, while the GA will be shocked at the fact that they killed off Spider-Man's love interest. After seeing MJ get kidnapped and saved by Spider-Man three times in the Raimi trilogy, this would be the very opposite of predictable or boring.

it may of happened in the comics, but, unlike in the comics (where her and Peter were together for while before it happened), we've only seen her (and him together) for a short while in the films... if anything, its too soon (an I don't just mean if it happens in this next one, it'll be to soon, I mean like if it happens in this saga of the movies) if the movie go beyond the third film, wrapping up this storyline, and moving on to a new chapter/story arc, maybe... but, for right now it feels to soon

just saying

I guess Bane breaking Batman's back was boring and predictable?
while we're comparing things to batman... hasn't the killing off the love interest thing already been done

it wouldn't be as shocking to the GA, they will just say its a rip off of TDK (not knowing it happened in the comics first)

I don't think it would be too soon at all. Since you are comparing this to Rachel's death in TDK, they killed her off halfway through the second movie. If they kill off Gwen by the end of the second movie or during the third, it would be fine. Just saying. ;)

Christopher Nolan did not create the idea of killing off love interests, and if people claim that Sony was ripping off TDK, then that is plain stupidity.

Thank God that Hypsters don't write these screenplays...

I'm willing to bet $10,000 that Gwen Stacy does not die in TASM2. You can quote me on that, paste it into your sigs, whatever you want.

Unless they shove Green Goblin into TASM2 along with Electro, I don't think she'll die either.

I'm curious, what brings you to this conclusion? I hope to the CBM gods youre right. But before I go posting this in my sig, I'd like to know why you believe this

Few reasons.

Too much of a retread of Rachel's death in TDK. Electro being billed as main villain. In order for Gwen to be killed by Green Goblin, I think the Goblin needs to be front and center, which definitely will not be the case in TASM2. It wouldn't have the impact that it needs to have yet, especially if Gwen is killed by the Goblin...so soon after he becomes the Goblin. It'd be much more shocking if it occurs in the first 3rd of TASM3.

Unless there is proof that Green Goblin will play a huge role in TASM2 (which he won't), I won't retract my statement. I don't even think the Goblin will appear, though I expect Norman himself to be present and to have a supporting role...building to an epic TASM3 with Spidey vs. the Green Goblin.

Exactly, and I PRAY they don't do that. No stupid cliffhanger with Goblin killing Gwen at the tail-end of TASM2. Each film in this series needs to stand on its own, and yet be tied together strongly and thematically.

Also, if Electro somehow kills Gwen in this, I'm not giving anyone $10,000 because I'll be too busy suing the filmmakers.

I'd argue that bridges are already overdone as of ASM lol.

We had one scene on a bridge though. It would be ironic actually. He saved a kid on a bridge with his webbing, but the woman he loves... he fails.

I know you're joking, but...

I think people need to get Gwen's death at the hands of electro out of there minds... No way would they be using Norman Osborn again in this trilogy (and Gwen) if the two weren't going to come together. I do think she will die at the end.. but it will be by GG who suits up at the end

people need to just learn to shrug off Nolan Batman comparisons from now on till the end of time. Don't give those people the satisfaction. Almost any movie in the genre that comes out now get's some sort of comparison... they act as if nothing in a nolan movie has ever happened on screen before
