Which actors do you think should be the next James Bond?

a bit of an unconventional choice, but, has/would anyone consider(ed) James D'arcy?

Anthony CumberFinnes?

I'd support him.

::cue homophobes freaking out about a gay man playing Bond::

I want to see a gay Bond. Before when we were casting our perfect bond flicks I had honestly no idea who to choose for a Bond girl but a few for Bond guys.

I wonder if Bond would be a top or bottom?

Read that Chris Hemsworth was in for consideration. He is way too glamourous for the part of Bond . . . and if an Australian were to be in consideration to be the next 007 then Travis Fimmel would get my vote. His portrayal of Ragnar was extraordinary!

Travis Fimmel is the kind of actor where I'd be taken aback at first, but upon consideration I could probably see it. Ragnar Lothbrok is certainly one of the best characters I've seen on tv in a while with a wonderful moral ambiguity.

Bond's womanizing is too important to the character. It is one of his basic traits and is as much a part of him as his license to kill. Bisexual Bond? Fine. Homosexual Bond? No.

Why the hell are you guys talking about?
Black, asian, woman, gay, Bi.....wtf?

Bond is a character created in 1953, with 12 novels, with 25 movies under his belt, with 5 different actors portraying him....the simple idea of changing him just to fuel SJW agenda is absurd.

James Bond is BRITISH, MALE, WHITE and HETEROSEXUAL.
That's how he was created, that's how he is.
Making James Bond to be about gender, race and sexual orientation statements is ridiculous.

^ no one tell him about Moneypenny.

You know, you look at the development of Spectre and the ways John Logan tried to reinvent the Blofeld character...it's a mess. First he was an African warlord who engaged in cannibalism, then he was changed into a woman (and lesbian to boot) and then they finally settled on making him Bond's adoptive brother. None of this worked, because they kept trying to radically change who Blofeld was. He became less of a character and more of a name and plot device that was barely relatable to what Fleming created him as. I feel like it's the same thing when people try to suggest Bond be radically changed.

In saying that though, while I don't think his race or gender should ever change, I don't see any reason why a gay actor couldn't portray Bond. I mean it's an actor's job to pretend to be a completely different person, so if you've got someone who can play a cold sociopath barely held together by alcohol and pills then they should be able to play a heartless womaniser too.

I get the Benedict and Ralph references (and can see the resemblance) but, you lost me as Anthony?

best I could figure Anthony "Perkins" kind of a dated reference tho

He played Anthony Perkins in the Hopkins Hitchcock movie.

I think he played Ian Fleming in a film too, didn't he? The Sean Bean WW2 film?

oh... did see that one, yet (should probably check it out)

also probably should have done some research before asking, I guess lol

You can see the poster for Hitchcock in the background. My posts are complex like that.

I mean more of an alternate universe Bond.

Also, David H's response about Moneypenny back there is gold

That's a lousy reply.
It makes it sound that my post was racist, which had nothing to do with it, and it's quite weird and sad that people see it that way.
In fact, by turning Bond black, makes it more about race than anything else, and THAT'S much more racist that whatever i can say.

Like i said before, i'm more than fine with Moneypenny being black, since she, even being a iconic character, was never a big role.

You're fine with blacks as long as they are not the big roles. Gotcha.

Tom Hiddleston. The Night Manager might as well have been his audition tape.

Hoult in maybe 5 years could possibly do it. They didn't cast Henry Cavill for Casino Royale because he was ultimately too young for the part, despite liking him very much. I don't think they'd get anyone in their 20s.
