Oh God there'd be riots.
Indeed, but I'm just gonna go right on back to blocking that film from my memory, thanks.
And honestly, MM might just be in my top 5 favorite suggestions I've seen for this role yet. Once upon a time, she was my #1 pick for Lois Lane, but I think she could do just as much justice to a character like Carol, too. I also just remembered she was blonde in the first movie I saw her in, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, where she had a great rapport with RDJ. I'd love to see a KKBB reunion here, and if she gets the chance to dropkick him through the wing of a jumbo jet which they both then have to rescue, fine by me.![]()

t:Actually happened in the comics. It was during her alcoholic phase and I think she might've been a little drunk at the time, so I've blocked the plot out (I'm really not a fan of those times), but her drop-kicking Iron Man through a jet during an argument was a highlight one doesn't soon forget. It was supposed to be a "screw-up" moment for her, but I just enjoyed the visual.Do you have Feige's email address? Because someone needs to send him that idea stat!!

Hell yeah, she's not tied up by the Bond franchise any more so the timing's perfect!Dame Judi Dench then?t:
What in the heck does Maggie Q HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!!!! What are you even taking about? Who here was even talking about replacing the actress that's currently in the role? This comment would've made more sense if we were getting a report for a casting announcement for an Asian female for a role on AoS but it isn't. Do you even know if Agent May's character was supposed to be asian or the actress was simply just cast to play a lead female character who's also a senior agent? Since she is a senior agent it would make sense that's she isn't as young as the other female agents on the show. This age thing is getting old.
You're the one who brought up how Wen is a shinning light for age and doing a great job. I'm countering that by saying the role would have been done better in my view by a younger/better looking Maggie Q.
Emily Blunt would be a great choice in my opinion.
What film could we possibly see Carol in before Captain Marvel? Cap 3 is the only real possibility in my view.
Maggie Q. is 35. So again, going by the comments of some, she's "too advanced in years" to play ANY kinds of action role.

Sounds like a great idea to me.Ladies and gents, I think this age debate has turned circular at this point. Every point (both for and against the oldies, the young 'uns and everyone in between) has been exhausted. Everyone's opinions have been aired and so has everyone's counters to everyone's opinions. What say we put a moratorium on the age debate? Can I get a hell yea?
It's true. Certainly easier than finding someone like Thor. Marvel's got plenty of great options to choose from no matter what level of recognizability and "name recognition" they're going for.Is it just me or are there really quite a number of actresses that could be a great Carol? I'm rooting for Blunt but I can definitely see a number of the ladies being suggested in the role too.
Can we put an instant ban on the words "too old" in this thread please?
Not to mention these are professional actors signing contracts worth millions. They will keep themselves in shape to play these types of parts.

Because nobody is entitled to an opinion except you?

Haha, that shortlist was terrifying.I've thought that too. Every time I see a new recommendation I think they could also do a good job. I actually thought there would be a lot of good actors who could play Cap so I was horrified by the initial shortlist.
