Nail in the coffin for me was the line where Savatar expressed jealousy towards Barry being raised by Joe and his relationship with Iris. "You didn't deserve it".

Add to that the whole making-Wally-faster-than-Barry storyline which would explain why Savatar is faster.

Savatar also said he made himself - and they reiterated that Savatar made Wally (gave him his speed).

The only thing throwing me off is that Savitar kills Iris. Shows how screwed up Wally gets if this theory is true.

Jay Garrick seems to know alot about him...also the fact Jay Garrick put himself in that prison as if not to screw with a time line...and just accept the fate knowing Barry would stop him when he goes evil.

Either way this season sucks.

Eh, I think Jay was just being noble, possibly combined with trusting that Barry would get him out later. I still think he was somewhat tragically mistaken, though. I think the Speed Force was *trying* to get Barry to stop moping and martyring himself, and start thinking and acting like a hero again. Which is to say, the Speed Force didn't want Barry to take Wally's place to free him, it wanted Barry *to free him*. To do the impossible, like he's meant to. Hence the various obstacles that Barry had to overcome, he was supposed to stop bargaining and just *overcome*.

I think it is Barry. Or future Barry. Or I hope it is anyway.
But I won't bet this time, because last season got me wrong on this Jay Garrick/Zoom twist. I did not see it coming. And also the fact that the prisoner of zoom was the real Jay. So I won't bet this time. Let's see.

I think Barry would be a lot more interesting than Wally or H.R. The only problem to the theory was Savitar stated he gave himself his speed, while Barry was affected by the Particle Accelerator.

Hadn't noticed this but does seem like it'd be a deliberate hint. Do we know anyone that calls him Wallace?

I can't get past it being Wally himself though. Too many things he's said fit.

Personally, I think it's Eddie. I'll be let down if it's HR. We went through this in season 1. Don't need another Wells turning his back on Barry. If it ends up being Wally, I'll feel indifferent. Really wouldn't make sense that he'd want to kill his sister though.

The Wallace thing... Geez this show would go that route. For myself the only thing that would come close to making any sense is Eddie. Wally would just suck so hard. Now that he's freed from the speed force I think that puts the kibosh on that.

The problem with it being Eddie is that he hadn't shown up, or was discussed much, or flashbacked during the early episodes until now. It would come out of left field this late in the game. Eobard was at least masquerading as Harrison Wells, before being recasted, the hints were all there. Jay Garrick was really Hunter Zolomon all along. Adrian Chase isn't Vigilante (or is he?), but he's the only choice to be Prometheus because there was no Tommy Merlin hanging around in flashbacks, or present, it had to be Adrian because he was introduced early on unless they had decided it was Susan Williams, Wild Dog, or Ragman as the only other early introduced characters because Dinah Drake showed up way later.

This time around it's either H.R. (too obvious, so less likely), or Julian (very likely, Dr. Alchemy was really a cover, the two meeting was a speed mirage, or two personalities engaging in his mind).

I was guessing Wally only because it made sense until now and these shows don't tend to play the long game of introducing a character to become the big bad in later seasons so far.

The future/alternate Barry twist has been shot down every season so far, they're probably saving it for the last season if they know ahead of time they're being cancelled. It's the kind saving throw they would do for a last season and as they've been renewed it's unlikely.

The references Savitar makes though would line of very well with Eddie, more so than any version of Wells or Julian. The sort of "jealousy" aspect might fit Wally but I think it fits Eddie to a T. Joe's partner, engaged to Iris, "death" connected to time travel, someone whose motivations could include wanting to hurt Barry enough to kill Iris. It's more elegant than what they did in season 2 by a mile.

I can see Eddie being Savitar. If he spent a long time in the speed force and eventually got out in the future, he could be insane. He'd see that Barry and Iris had a wonderful marriage and children. He'd also see that despite him "sacrificing" himself, there is still an Eobard Thawn via the time remnant. That's enough to make someone who is already insane from the speed force to completely loose it.

I don't know. To me, it seems like they're throwing out a lot of hints that Savitar is some version of Wally or Barry.

Dr. Wells/Eo Thawne was cool. Jay Garrick/Hunter Zol was derivative and formulaic. ?/Savitar is one time too many.

I could see Savitar being a time remnant actually, if he were I'd guess it was Barry's time remnant that sacrificed himself in the S2 finale.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine sent me a set pic of [BLACKOUT]Grant Gustin[/BLACKOUT] in Savitar's suit. I was shocked, then pissed, and deleted it. For context, he's not involved in the production of the show in anyway, and is more of a casual fan. I'm trying to get him to resend that pic. When I get it tomorrow I'll post. It could be photoshopped of course.

Since seeing that pic I've been trying to make sense of things, including motivations. I've analyzed every bit of dialogue for a tell. I wish I hadn't seen it because without sufficient context I'm confused and still a little pissed.

I was thinking that as well because time remnants are supposed to be dead unless something else occurred like getting sent to the future.
