Oh okay thanks man
"Maybe you're having problems with other people because you're misinterpreting them?"
I actually think that may be it.
Lol it happens. That's the problem with communicating via text....maybe I should use more smiley faces

Margot def looks better in this pic age-wise.
Ultimate MJ is supposed to be a more nerdy girl next door type. She's quite pretty, but not supermodel hot. If that is what they're going for, then Woodley works just fine. Her performance is what's important to me, not really her looks.

Red hair, big rack, pretty eyes, good actress. Is that so hard to find?

I find this entire debate rather sad (poor Shailene, you have to put up with so much).
I don't think the studio just started negotiations with Woodley, I'm sure there were other actresses they spoke with as well, the same way it happened with Gwen. Woodley at the time happened to work in their favor.
I think it's only sad when people simplify MJ to big boobs and red hair(although it's clear that they were just kidding) and when they pick apart Woodley's physical appearance. That being said, I think it can be a fair debate. I've seen her performances in episodes of The Secret Life, the Descendants, and clips of Spectacular Now. She's very talented, and pretty, but doesn't scream MJ.
but the thing is that marc was obviously not going for classic mj, so that argument is pointless. yes, it's okay to have your opinion, not to like shailene or even think she's ugly, but to diminish both her and mj as a character to just how they look is the problem.
and i was just reading the variety article that announced her casting and it says, "Woodley is the studios leading choice to join stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in the Marc Webb-directed sequel" so sl500jazz. they wanted her from the get-go.

Yes I can see that he wasn't going for classic MJ. But lots of us think he should. Are we not allowed to express that opinion? That argument is not pointless. Your accusations are though.
How am I "diminishing" MJ by wanting her to look the traditional part? You're implying that I only care about her looks and not her personality, you're assuming a lot there.
I think the only problem here is people thinking there is a problem that others don't share their opinion and making incorrect assumptions about people that disagree with them.
Bold: exactly. I guess some people aren't okay with that route. Whatevs. Done deal haha.
no need to take it personally unless the shoe fits.
few arguments were about how marc should've approached mj, most were just flat-out saying shailene isn't hot enough. very few people were saying the looks matter as well as the personality. most seem to not even care about the actress' abilities and only going for the looks. how many times have i seen someone mention a hot girl saying, "idk if she can act or not, i've never seen her in anything, but she'd make a good mj" as if the character's looks are all that matters. that's all i'm saying.
if you're not one of those people, then cool. no need to discuss things any further.
