The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor" - Part 1

I wanna see the reunion in Thor2, not in Avengers. But I hope Jane will be mentioned. Perhaps Thor returnes from somewhere telling he met Jane. I mean he can fly. Why shouldn't he visit her when the times allows it?

Perhaps, but I would think that one way they could explain as to why Thor doesn't attempt to see Jane in this film is because of fear that if he were to go to her, that Loki would really make an attempt to harm her in order to spite him.

Plus, I think it makes for a better on screen reunion in Thor 2 if we're shown the very first time that they've met since being separated from each other on screen

Could be. Loki threatened her before and Thor doesn't want to give him an idea.

With all the mayhem and the madness going on in The Avengers, Thor probably won't have time to go off to see Jane. Loki and his army of Skrulls/Kree/New Men/Badoon/Whatever will keep him quite busy.

She's in it. She was among the the only three stars that Marvel Studios officially confirmed to be returning for Thor 2, alongside Chris and Tom.

Idris Elba was also confirmed to be returning, I think Jamie, Tadanobu, Ray, and Josh Dallas are returning as their respective characters as well.

Maybe it will be "lampshaded" at the end; when the war against Loki is done, we see Thor walking like a normal man, in normal clothes, in a typical American suburb, looking for a specific house. He's put down a hammer, and instead he's carrying a single rose (I don't like it either, but the chicks in the audience will dig it).

He sees the house he's looking for, and we walks up and rings the doorbell and waits. Then the movie cuts to another character's wrap-up scene, and that's the last of Thor we see until Thor 2 or Avengers 2.

The only thing is that the possible final scene in Avengers has what looks like Thor and Loki possibly being transported back to Asgard along with the other heroes all going their separate ways.

I want Jane to end up with Donald Blake in the sequel and Thor with Sif, who clearly felt for him in the first.

Have Thor meet Donald during his reuniting with Jane and have Thor realize him and Jane could never truly be together and he gets her and Donald back together before he leaves for good as well as have him begin a relationship with Sif.

Agreed; that's why I don't think an epilogue/post-credit scene would address the Thor/Jane issue (even though it would be a nice touch).

I want Thor to end up with Sif, too, and hopefully Thor 2 will set it up with Jane getting written out of the picture by movie's end and Sif moving in to take her place. I don't think getting Jane back together with Donald Blake is the answer, though --- we know nothing about Blake, or if he's even right for her, so it would require the introduction of a major new character whose only real purpose is to escort Jane away, stage left.

Jamie Said she was trying hard to make Sif appear she liked Thor more than just a friend. Let's hope it turns out that way.

I definitely got that vibe from her. Just some subtle little glances here and there.

That's probably all that needs to be shown. She's an Asgardian warrior for one thing, you can't expect her to lie on her pink bed clutching a pillow staring at a picture of Thor with Michelle Branch playing in the background; how she would express love would be completely different than a human woman.

You see it also a little bit during the Destroyer battle, when Sif says she will die a warriors death (and so on). The way Thor talks to her she shall live, the way they touch. That was the first time I thought between them could be more than friendship.

The only times that I got a feeling that Sif had more feelings for Thor than she was letting on was how determined and stubborn she was in trying to convince the Warriors Three and Loki to bring back Thor when no one else was willing to rise to the occasion. One moment in particular was when she almost lashed out at Loki in the throne room when Loki refused to bring back Thor. And finally, the last moment would be the glance that she threw at him when he walked by her at the end.

Honestly, I think this might depend on whether Marvel Studios is confident that going about a Thor and Sif relationship will work for them profitably because Natalie Portman is more recognizable to the GA than Jaimie Alexander is at the moment, and they may very well pull off a Logan/Jean moment here where they go off with a pairing that consists with the more star power actress/actor instead of following traditional comic book mythology (aka Cyclops/Jean).

Maybe thor 2 will be set in the time in between thor 1 and the avengers. And btw, who is holding the destroyer armor? Shield?

Good point. For that matter, IM3 may be set in the interim between IM2 and Avengers. Supposedly, 2 years pass before the Avengers movie begins, so our Thor and IM sequels may be filling in the empty spaces.

I don't know; I mean didn't they say that Iron Man would have like a huge stack of different types of Iron Man suits in "Iron Man 3" and seeing as how we've only gotten one new design in "The Avengers", it doesn't seem to be the case where IM3 would be before The Avengers.

As for Thor 2, given that Tom is confirmed for Thor 2 and that he said that Loki would have to pay for the consequences for his actions in the Avengers, that pretty much confirms that Thor 2 takes place after The Avengers, especially with the Avengers ending with Thor taking back Loki to Asgard.

Thats true. I forgot about that.

I'm not familiar with those quotes, but you may be right. I thought the tons of extra armor quote was in reference to Avengers instead of IM3; and I hadn't heard the Hiddleston quote.

I'm just all too eager to see how Odin reacts to everything that Loki does on Earth in the Avengers and what Thor's involvement in all this will be.

We never found out who has the Destroyer. There wasn't anything in the scripts either about that either.

I'm hoping they at least have Loki MENTION to harm Jane like he did in Thor to get Thor aggitated. I mean a follow-up with jane in some manner ought to be addressed and I'd settle for that one new pic of Coulson and Thor being a video chat

Would be nice if this pic shows the video chat with Jane. But I bet more that Coulson shows Thor the prison where they jailed Loki. Thor looks so deadly serious at the screen, he might be thinking "These walls won't hold him".

Just a quick question regarding Jane appearing in a possible sequel. Didn't Natalie Portman speak out harshly about Marvel doing something about 6 months ago or so (can't remember what), but my question is if so do you think it will decrease the chances of Jane appearing in a sequel or them recasting Jane?

Surfer

Jane Foster, one of the most boring Thor topics ever.
