In new avengers #20, when ragnarok shows up, spidey says, " Oh great, they have a thor. " :D

Jane Foster, one of the most boring Thor topics ever.

That may be, but I am interested in her involvement if for no other reason, but for continuity sake. It would seem weird if she just disappeared from the movie after there had been that connection between them in the 1st movie.

Oh shush you! :woot:

I want Jane to end up with Donald Blake in the sequel and Thor with Sif, who clearly felt for him in the first.

Have Thor meet Donald during his reuniting with Jane and have Thor realize him and Jane could never truly be together and he gets her and Donald back together before he leaves for good as well as have him begin a relationship with Sif.

You are looking at this will fanboy goggles and there is a reason Thor/Sif isn't an iconic pairing in the MU (Its dull, Sif is annoying when she's with him). Also, I would hope they don't go with the messed up JMS version of Donald and do it properly if they do it at all - http://www.epic-randomness.com/secret-origins-dr-donald-blake/

I'm still a little annoyed Jane isn't a medical professional of any kind. I feel EMH gets Thor/Jane perfectly in its original form.

Yeah, perfectly boring

Its really no more boring than Clark/Lois or Spidey/MJ. And at least in the instance of Thor/Jane they brought out character aspects in each other that weren't seen when they were apart which is the most important thing.

There is a perfect bit in EMH where Thor is saying that the reason he's on Earth is because his actions matter and he can make a difference whereas in Asgard its just an endless cycle of futility. Then they show him having a conversation with Jane about how powerless she is and she says she does her job because people need her help. That is the fundamental heart and soul of it, that is how they connect. They are so alike but so different. In her he can see the human spirit he fights for. Its such a great adaptation of the Silver Age Jane who was frustrated by her powerlessness whether it be to protect Donald (who she didn't know was Thor) or protect herself from the multitude of kidnaps. She was self aware. I find that a lot less boring than Thor pumelling the Troll King when you know he won't lose. The key is explaining why the characters do what they do not really what they end up doing. Jane's character was always perfect for that, for reminding Thor that he has more responsibilities than just to Asgard and that not everyone will talk to him with deference and so he is kept humble.

heh Norse myth they're all a bit like most Viking movies that Talk about Sexing Squirrels and such hahaha

Jane is alot more boring than Lois Lane and Mary Jane, why do you think they spruced her character up in THOR?

I'm just all too eager to see how Odin reacts to everything that Loki does on Earth in the Avengers and what Thor's involvement in all this will be.

Actually I've been curious about it, any word on Anthony Hopkins returning??

He must....he must.... :awesome:

Can't believe that no one has discussed in Thor's own thread about the part where where he says: "You people are so petty".

I honestly can't wait to see Thor's reaction to seeing and dealing with most of the Avengers, especially from a story's perspective since this will relatively be the first time that Thor has worked alongside Mortals as comrades in arms in the MCU.

The other day I read an article about Hopkins in the Daily Mail (**shudders**) where he said he's about to begin work on Thor 2. It's the Mail and all, but I took that as confirmation that he's coming back.

Oh I loved that line, I also read in an interview that Thor will be saying things that makes people around him give him a "what the hell" look.

I think that's going to be pretty cool, especially since sayings that like that are a major part of who Thor is.

Saw it now (it isn't easy while sitting in the office). It sounds really cool as he wanna really say "You mortals are so stupid with your little problems". I think this scene will happen after that debate between Cap and Tony from the first trailer.

And it is a nice quote to end annoying discussions :cwink:

Edit: Nevermind

Am I the only one who noticed the lack of Thor doing anything awesome in the new trailer.

What's funny is that my friend, after watching the newest trailer, says "All they really need is Iron Man and Hulk." I said that Thor was actually just as strong if not stronger than Hulk in the comics. His response? "Really? Don't get that impression from the movies."

Meh, He's Thor. His existence alone is all the awesome I need.

I dare you to go post this in the "news and discussion" thread.

lol

Nah, I want to see a few shots of him doing something worthy of a dude with the title "God of Thunder".

You forgot to post the picture of the "challenge accepted" meme.

Instead of this he gets hit badly by Iron Man. We know all the awesome things from the superbowl trailer.

Very surprised Iron Man could give Thor such a beating he gives in the trailer based on the movies so far. Wouldnt have thought IM would be able to send Thor flying back from a hit.

He didn't give Thor a "beating" he kicked him and punched him, Thor's human sized so why wouldn't a kick from Iron Man send him flying?

A Frost Giant did it in THOR and I'd put Iron man above a Frost Giant.
