The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor" - Part 4

Actors have worn helmets in movies for decades. I will not accept any excuse for why Chris Hemsworth could not physically wear a helmet.

You guys should just tell the truth and say that you prefer the way he looks without a helmet instead of making up reasons for why it would be impossible.

Why hide Chris Hemsworth's hair underneath a helmet all the time though? Thor looks good aesthetically without a helmet anyways.

Nobody said impossible, we said impractical and the film makers obviously agreed.

I dislike people pretending that there are reasons why the other side can't get what they want, instead of just dealing with the fact that there are people who disagree with them.

I would never argue with someone who says they prefer Thor without the helmet. Because that's subjective. But to claim it can't be done? That's just incorrect.

There are reasons though. Your argument basically consists of 'Its been done before' with no consideration as to whether it was done well or could have been better.

I had very few nitpicks with this movie, but I do think that Thor's cape should be in tatters and/or burnt to a crisp by the end of the battle. Wouldve looked cooler. Total nitpick of course.

And I think/hope that Thor will go into battle with a helmet at some point in T2. He will need a tough enough foe to justify it, but its certainly possible to make it look badass.

lol Yeah I guess if it's not ALWAYS wet looking.

I just don't like the look of the particular helmet they chose for the film. The wings seem to be almost too big and go almost vertical.

That's a pretty small gripe though, they can always make the wings smaller.

lol egads, Thor gigalo? hehehe I'm just saying I understand that he IS a THUNDER god and would be wet when using powers but ALL the time

Been reading all the SWATH reviews and blog comments. Movie itself is getting pretty meh reviews, but Chris is definitely going to go into Thor 2 carrying an extra fanbase to the one he had in Thor. Lots of online comments too from people who only saw Thor for the first time in The Avengers and who are now keen for T2. And then there's the Loki/Tom factor!

I know it's very early, but what sort of box office do you think Thor 2 will do?

You do know this conversation is just going to take a sharp turn towards the perverted if we keep it going.

Just seen the movie with the lady.

While I Looved the movie, I walked away feeling they took some things away from Thor, Power-wiz, and gave some scenes that Thor should have been in to IM.

As far as his powers...

Like Thor spinning his hammer until it's a blurr and just crushing enemies (Never happened in TA, he did spin it many times, but he never crushed enemies with it or even "blurred" it) or Thor as he did in his solo flick actually spinning his hammer so fast in the air he made a Tornado/Vacuum that no one can escape. I wish Thor got a little more ticked off in the movie and let out a little more anger (as in showing his true power).

From my viewpoint, they seemed to want all the flying glory to go to IM.

I'm not complaining as I thought the movie killed, I just thought some of the Iron Man scenes would have better suited Thor, like when IM flew through the mouth of the beast, they basically took that from Thors solo flick when Thor went through the mouth of the beast while fighting the Frost Giants the first time.

Just thought Thor was missing some of that badass cool factor that he showed off in his movie (not much, but some).

^ They definately gave all of the cool flying scenes to IM, I really would've liked to have seen the "hammer spin" attack return as well.

I think the Thor movies will be just as big as the Iron man's movies from now on. Hemsworth may even pull in some extra fan girls from Snow White and the Huntsman.

I though he had caught sight of Hulk for a second. (I hate that movie by the way)

They slowed down the hammer spin to show that Thor didn't have spin his hammer like a mad man for 5 seconds before he could fly. It was one of those things that irritated some fans about the first movie while other fans loved it. I think when Thor flies he should slow spin for less than a second to fly and when he fights he spin his hammer like mad. They just displayed his lighting powers to a larger extent in the Avengers and showed his durability in use more often than Thor did. some people have a problem with the IM and Thor fight. They believe that IM shouldn't have been able to put up a minor fight because Thor defeated the Destroyer so easily. The problem doesn't lie with the Avengers fight the problem lies with the fact that they did a piss poor job at choreographing the Destroyer vs Thor fight in Thor.

^ Plus Thor didn't go all out against IM like he did against The Destroyer, which makes sense because we can't have heroes killing heroes.

I'm a bit bummed that Josh won't be returning, he tweeted this yesterday:
Josh Dallas ‏@joshdallas

Thank you, @Marvel! I wish all the best for ‪#THOR2‬! http://tinyurl.com/6upkesj via @EW for Asgard. @OnceABC ‪#OnceUponATime‬ season 2 here I come...

Reading the blurb he linked to, at least it sounds like that they had tried to work the schedules out but it simply didn't work.

In my opinion, it'll be interesting to see what Zach does if he does in fact get the part, since it seems like he was in the running for the part in the first place (I like him as an actor)

That's a pity that Josh will not return. Liked his performance.

Meh, I liked Fandral, but it's not the most terrible news in the world.

That really is bad news. Fandral only played a small role in Thor but The Warriors Three should be more prominent in Thor 2. Dallas was a perfect fit for the character and I looked forward to seeing what he would do with an expanded role. It doesn't help matters that I disliked Chuck and feel that Levi is not a good choice for Fandral. It's a shame that they couldn't find someone of the caliber of Hemsworth and Hiddleston (or Stevenson and Asano) for the role.

Hopefully this does not foreshadow a continued emphasis on comedy in Thor 2. The one aspect of Thor that I felt was overdone was the broad comedy centering on Darcy. The exclusion of Dennings from the cast led me to think the producers had decided to move away from the one element of the first script that ended up being grating.

I was going to ask if Darcy would be in Thor 2. Won't miss her, but I wonder who Jane will have to bounce her thoughts off apart from Thor? Sif maybe?

Even though I like Chuck I'm not keen on seeing too much time wasted on the warriors three. I'm not even that fussed about the romance aspect, but I'm sure the Thor/Jane relationship will get a fair bit of screen time.

I hope both of them learn to kiss after that dreadful facemash in the first movie.

Do they start filming in July or August? I've read conflicting reports.
