Will Venom look cool or not cool, or fake, but cool?

Wait, the poll is about special effects but Grace will be in a suit; most likely he will just look like Spiderman when he wears the suit. My fear is that Venom will be blue or purple; he is suppossed to be black.

If they do the teeth and tongue it will ruin the movie.

who's to say that topher will be in the suit. it could be completed CG or partially CG. in the comics venom is a lot more bulky than spiderman.

maybe topher puts on the suit and it changes him or the appearance of it changes while on him. i would think that they would really go nuts on the special effects to make this happen.

It was the case with SM-2 as well,not just SM-1.

And in case you didn't notice 'brother',the stories are based from the old days.Ock's intro,GG's intro,Harry's vedetta against Spider-Man,Peter quitting being Spider-Man and tossing the costume in the trash can etc.It's all from the old days.

None of this is Ultimate stuff.I doubt Raimi has even read an Ultimate comic.He's old school 616 fan.

And if you think that just because USM is high in sales this year,holds any bearing on the movies,then prepare yourself for a shock

That said,if Gopher is Venom,then Eddie Brock will look like a joke,never mind Venom.

I've always been a huge That 70's Show fan, and always thought Topher would make it huge some day, he's such a good young actor. But 10 months ago, I would of agreed with you 100% I just couldn't see Topher as a good Eddie Brock/Venom.

But after seeing pics of what he will look like, and watching the trailer and comic-con footage, I am convinced 100%, not only that he will be a good Eddie Brock, but I think he will steal the show in SM3 given his role is big enough.

But, that's just me.

From what I've heard from Sony and the crew behind Spidey 3, the effects in it will be out of this world state of the art!... They're using entirely new developed methods to create SandMan, AND Venom! It'll be a spectacular blend of Make-Up, puppetering, CG, AND actual physical costume parts (with Venom that is!)... I think the result will be absolutely amazing! But we'll just have to wait and see, won't we

The effects in Spiderman and even Spiderman 2 look dated now, but at the time I didn't mind. I don't even know what Venom is going to look like, let alone how real it will be.
So I voted not sure.

Spider-Man is COMPLETELY CGI in these shots. The only thing real is the building. You're nuts if you don't think that looks totally real.

Doc Ock, what I found so funny- no offense- was that you claimed to be an old school fan but fogot one key thing. One key change that the movie has made.

In the classic comic books, Peter Parker was not a senior at Midtown High School. He was a sophmore at Midtown High School. This was established in Spider-Man #240 and on many other occasions. Thus, the ages in Ultimate are actually closer to the 'old school' Spidey comics than those of the film.

But, throughout- albiet- there have been many 'age jumps' if you will.... for more on this go to:

So, just when differing Ultimate and the films. In regards to the age of Peter Parker- Ultimate was actually closer to "old school" than the films.

I am honestly not sure how to vote - i am hoping he will look cool (obviously) but at the same time I don't know whether or not he will look fake - how on earth could he look realistick (big black spideyish thing with lolling tongue and big teeth). I think I know what you meen but it's a bit of a wierd question - i think he will look like he is really there but i don't think you could ever make venom look like he's supposed to be there in the real world . . . it's just such a big step away from what we've seen already, taking further into the realms of fantasy - Sandman too, for that matter.
