I listened to Austin's and now AoW pt.2 of CM Punk's interview.
I think if it wasn't on the Network, Vince wouldn't have done it and I'm surprised he was so candid about things. Yeah, he was putting up his usually farce and PR speak with a lot of ********. I'm not really surprised that he would bury his own talent about not being ambitious or not trying to grab the brass ring, but holy **** it has to sting if I was a wrestler under WWE to hear that from the boss himself. The worst part about it is when Austin mentions Cesaro and how he was getting over with his matches and the big swing, McMahon completely buries Cesaro for not connecting with the crowd.
Austin looked at him many times as if he didn't believe it. Cesaro was over, wins the battle royal that should have given him forward momentum, but what happens? He's told to stop doing the swing because he's heel now and paired with Heyman, which should have been a good fit until you realize they just wanted to have Heyman on TV to promote Lesnar and the person who would end up being with him was collateral. Vince and company are the reason Cesaro is where is right now. I do understand that Cesaro is not the best talker at points, but seeing his stuff on commentary or doing promotional work for the company, maybe they should let him come up with something as opposed to micromanaging him.
There's so many things to take away from that interview and Vince was so quick to remind Austin it was Sports Entertainment and not wrestling. He was also quick to saw he's not out of touch when Austin wasn't even saying that in the first place.
Now onto Colt's second interview with Punk. This was closer in format to Colt's usual show, so I enjoyed it more in that regard, and it was good to have him clarify some things from the previous interview. Him expanding on all the side stuff he was getting after the pipe bomb, and getting the okay with WWE only for it to be given to someone else is some messed up ****. I wonder how much Cena or Orton make from tours outside of the US. If Punk only got $5k for doing four shows there, then people lower tier then him must have gotten even less. You can really tell Punk cared because of how angry he was getting just talking about all the potential stuff they screwed him over with or didn't tell him about.
