It still blows my mind that was little girl crying hysterically in Beyond the Mat.

yeah sorry i find that hard to believe, no one has sympathy, yeah right. same with the ryback comments its been reported in the past that a lot think hes green and dangerous

i think this is wwe putting out leaks to control the damage

That's exactly what it sounds like to me. Go back and look what was all said after the first podcast, he supposedly had plenty of people supporting him and glad to know that he said what they couldn't. Now all of a sudden he has little to no support from the people backstage? Yeah right.

But Vince let Brock do it...

Apples to Oranges. Brock actually had a legitimate UFC association and sponsor deals in place before he signed with WWe. Also wwe was able to use Brock's UFC time to their advantage by selling him as an "ass kicker".

I think the MMA fan vs wrestling fan rivalry is very one-sided.

I am a big fan of both, and have been for a while. I don't get why there had to be an either/or about it, but like has been said already, certain MMA fans are really insecure about the possibility of being lumped in with "that fake/"gay" WWE bull****".

Like, I understand the MMA vs boxing argument, but the MMA vs pro wrestling argument shouldn't be one. It's like saying you can't watch Saving Private Ryan of you are a fan of real WW2 documentaries.

I think it stems from some of the hardcore online MMA fans being closet pro wrestling fans that bought into the silly idea that "grown men shouldn't watch that crap." So basically they try to come down harder on wrestling and its fans more to over compensate just in case some girls might be watching. :whatever:

Thankfully most MMA fans aren't like that. The annoying ones are the ones that don't want anyone to know about their hobby, but most just care about good fights. So many MMA fans aren't happy about a damn thing. Back in the dark ages they were complaining that the UFC sucked, and that Pride was better because there were no finishes. Then they complained that there were not enough events. Then they complained about too many events. Now they complain that devastating finishers like Cain Velasquez are boring because they don't have a good personality. Those guys just won't be happy regardless of things.

Of course this doesn't absolve the idiotic wrestling fans. You know, the guys who say dumb things like, "This guy isn't a draw, so I don't care that he broke his neck. I'm Kevin Nash, bro." But as you said, the MMA-pro wrestling beef is lopsided considering many of us already know that pro wrestling and MMA have long had ties since before the UFC and Pride blew up.

I'm starting to wonder if the UFC signing Punk wasn't more of them trying to keep him from going to another org like Bellator. The Punk signing looks silly because the guy has no professional or amateur combat sports background like Brock did. If Punk had taken part in a few BJJ tourneys or muay thai matches that'd be something, but he's going to get his first real combat testing in the biggest MMA organization to date. The UFC usually strays away from that, but I can see that they didn't want Bellator to sign Punk and get huge ratings. The UFC right now is in a transition period, so they could use the ratings boost to get more eyes on their young stars that are upcoming. From that perspective the Punk signing makes sense.

MMA may hate it, but the bottom line is it's a business and with UFC's sales declining due to them oversaturating the market, Dana pulled the trigger. Now, he has the world talking about UFC and a guaranteed ticket sales / buyrates for whatever PPV Punk competes in.

If Punk did this 10 years ago, he'd be alright, but he's past his prime at 36. He will not survive. Look what happened to Chuck Liddell and he was one of the best MMA guys out there.

That's why Vince needs to retire. It's time to focus more on making new stars instead of blowing millions of dollars. I love Brock , but is he honestly helping WWE that much.

Hard to say now since The Network bungled up the buyrate system, but when he was in the main event before that, Lesnar's involvement boosted sales considerably for Extreme Rules and SummerSlam in 2012. If they do renew Lesnar deal's and he gets a pay increase, I hope they can get him to work more dates. Not having a world title match for 3 PPVs in a row is a buzzkill.

seems not everyone likes the punk news

@ufc sign a fake wrestler, but not an Olympian who is the best WW in the world. Amateur move.

Askren needs to realize that UFC (and MMA in general) is a business, and even though he is a phenomenal wrestler (I watched him wrestle when he was in college, and he made guys look foolish), he doesn't have much draw power as a fighter. He is undefeated, but let's not pretend that he has been beating he guys that GSP, Hendricks, Lawler, or McDonald have been beating in UFC.

UFC and MMA in general has some of the most obnoxious, elitist fans. Sometimes it makes me wish their whole sport would just go the **** away.

Let's not act like pro wrestling doesn't have its fair share of awful, elitist fans.

I realize it isn't fair to the fans who aren't complete *******s to attack the whole sport of MMA, but the ******* elitists are so loathsome, their egos would suggest they're fighters themselves and not just some obnoxious fat asses who think liking a real sport makes them better than fans of a scripted show.

Jay Briscoe is still one of the top 3 best promos in wrestling today. Adam Cole has gotten really good too.

So who's supposed to be the heel in this Elgin/Ciampa match? It's Ciampa right? Elgin is a tweener?

In what is quite the turnaround, it looks like Rey Mysterio has kissed and made up with WWE and is ready to recommit himself to the company long term.

The two sides have been locked in a messy contractual dispute for much of this year, ever since Vince McMahon used a clause in Mysterio's expiring WWE contract to extend the deal for another year due to all the time he had been out of action through injury during the duration of his old agreement. The move was unexpected and made Mysterio determined to leave WWE, having already been frustrated over the years with his creative direction and pay.

So much so, Mysterio reportedly stopped cashing in WWE's checks as a likely precursor to making a legal move to get out of his WWE contract, and he even appeared via videotape at the end of AAA's TripleMania pay-per-view in August telling fans about how much he hoped to return to the Mexican promotion soon.

No action was taken by WWE for his unsanctioned AAA appearance, similar to Alberto Del Rio, who was also heavily featured on the TripleMania show whilst WWE was still attempting to enforce Del Rio's no-compete clause after releasing him from his WWE contract earlier that month over slapping a social media executive for a racial remark at his expense. This was likely due to a fear that both Del Rio and Mysterio would speak out publicly over their issues with the company, which had the potential to be tremendously damaging to WWE, like CM Punk's explosive tell-all interview was last week.

However, with Alberto Del Rio happy to be gone from WWE for good, Rey Mysterio's value to the company significantly increased, partly because they had no major Hispanic stars left on their roster and partly because they desperately need a Mexican goodwill ambassador to repair the damage done in that market over AAA's allegations that WWE were a racist promotion.

Early last month, he had a face to face meeting with Vince McMahon to hash out their differences, and although early reports suggested that their conversation together solved nothing, after a few weeks went by, Mysterio had presumably agreed to come back to work shortly, as WWE expected him back soon. So what changed?

On Figure Four Daily, lucha expert Steve Sims had the scoop on Mysterio's change of heart. According to Sims, Vince McMahon's recognition that they have no draws left for the lucrative Mexican market caused him to loosen up his purse strings and give was on other sticking points to get Mysterio back into the WWE fold.

One of those issues was WWE's road schedule given Mysterio's broken down body, and apparently there's a plan of action in place so that he spends less time in the ring when he returns, but the details of whether that involves being used more as a special attraction than a full time wrestler or being given a babyface authority figure or manager role or being used mainly as an ambassador for the company remains to be seen.

Sims called the deal Mysterio has on the table from WWE "the best of all the economic offers he's ever going to get for the rest of his life" and that it would be "hard to pass up", which must mean he's been given a really sweet deal by WWE as he could make very good money working for AAA, Lucha Underground and major independents next year.

The value in Mysterio at this stage of his career is that he can help get over a young Hispanic athlete by being their tag team partner and mentor, who can be groomed to replace Mysterio as their top Latino babyface. The likely candidate for this role is NXT's Kalisto, so don't be surprised if a WWE call-up is in his future to coincide with Rey Mysterio's expected return.

Man Cole was killing it on the mic in that backstage promo

I don't think WWE realizes the goldmine they're sitting on with Kevin Steen. They better not **** him up.
