Wolverine and the X-Men to premiere on 8/2/08

Grohl, considering its the native homeland of Kate Isitt, Sarah Alexander, Eva Wyrwal, Vikki Blows, and Keeley Hazell . . . you should already love your country.

It's going to be on the BBC before the US ? That's odd.
Then again, more likely a marketing ploy, cause they'll probably start showing it right after the Wolverine movie comes out next May. Then people will be much more likely to watch it.

BBC licensed the show before Nicktoons. Plus yes it is a marketing ploy in the US to debut the show right before the movie comes out.

I haven't seen any trailers what so ever for 'Wolverine and the X-men' in the UK!

NO mentions or little teasers... in fact I checked my Sky guide for Saturday and the show does not appear anywhere on BBC2's schedule.

It's not looking good... shame. :csad:

Not so good if they aren't advertising this show which is supposed to appear on the BBC next month.

But the trailers are out there and all over the net.

Anyone seen promos for the show on BBC yet?

I haven't seen any advertising no, but then again I don't watch the kids channel or the slots dedicated to kids tv.

I'm sure kids will watch it :D

Marvel said it would premiere on Nicktoons in January. So that gives us a firm month on the airdate now. I thought it would be closer to May. So that's good news at least.

...on BBC.

looks like the rest of us will have to download em.

now you know how we Uk smallville fans feel. Mine is an evil laugh. Its add odd move though. usually cartoons are on weekdays between 3-5pm or aired on the CBBC channel this is on saturday at around 6.00pm. This is all very strange!

the bbc doesn't work like that. at most they will begin advertising 2 weeks before but mostly it will have a one week lead in

by the way I don't think its on on the 2nd as the 'dad's army' movie is on. There is a half hour spot on the 9th that has nothing in it though http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsS...Type=1&listingsFormat=G&searchDate=09/08/2008

its really strange scheduling from them as there are no similar programmes around it at all.

Update:Found it! on the CbbC channel at 6.00pm on the 9th. http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsS...86&jspLocation=/jsp/prog_details_fullpage.jsp

It is possible even likely that the empty 5.30pm slot on BBC2 is Wolverine and the X men and this is the next episode like they did with torchwood, heroes and the sarah jane adventures. The BBC2 episode the week after will be the one shown on CBBC here.

Is that like a prime time slot for the BBC?

technically prime time begins at 7.00pm. traditionally though saturday as the most important TV night of the week will be filled from 5.00pm onward. What is strange is that if the half hour slot on BBC2 is Wolverine then that would be guttsy.

CBBC have their own channel which is where the episode definitely listed is. They show kids TV from 7am-7pm. They also have cartoon blocks on BBC1 and BBC2 for around 2 hours before and after the kids get home from school. Of a weekend they have a couple of hours in the morning only.

If Wolverine is on Saturday 5.30pm on BBC2 that would be completely outside that block. To have a cartoon outside a CBBC transmission block is unheard of. Even X Men:TAS back in the day was in a CBBC block.

Like I said Heroes and other shows have schedules where one episode will air on BBC2 and the next episode will air on a digital channel straight after. Which is why I think there is a chance that wolverine could be in the 'to be announced' slot on BBC2 with episode 2 on straight after on CBBC. The week after it will air the episode already aired on CBBC and CBBC will air a new one. However until that slot is filled we can only guess.

Its for definite beginning on the 9th though.

I read that it will be on Nickelodeon over here. That seems like an odd place to put it. I would have expected it to be on the CW or Cartoon Network

Nice work, BBC. I had no idea about this coming so soon.

The time slot seem very unusual for the BBC...

Don't know if it could be for the shows advantage or disadvantage.

Its actually going to be on Nicktoons rather than Nickelodeon. I think FF kind of screwed over the chances of X-men showing up on cartoon network.

I talked to the Marvel/Hasbro guy at Con, and I asked about toys for this show. He talked about doing timetables with TV shows, movies, cartoons and what not. But he sounded positive in regards that there will be toys for this show and they are in some stage of development.

So my guess is they just weren't ready to announce or show them at Con. The show got picked up by Nicktoons very recently so that might have something to do with it as well.

its now been removed from the 9th replaced with 'help teacher is coming to stay'. I'll Email the BBc to get a straight answer

What is up with the BBC??? Why are they not showing it already?? I need some X-Men in my life!!

Hope the BBC get back to you soon, 04nbod; this is quite annoying.
