I can see it. The way Sony is restarting Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. will be the next Uncle Ben a few years down the line. :o

Going off of them hiring Tomei for Aunt May I could see the RDJ/Uncle Ben retcon. Marvel will recast Tony for the MCU and RDJ will just grow a mustache, then of course every Spider-Man film will have to have at least one Uncle Ben flashback

Crash Bandicoot was better! :argh:

Crash Bash and Crash Team Racing is where it's at.

Pssssssssssssh Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!!! Mario Kart tops that!! Plus Crash Bandicoot has been M.I.A. for a lot of years already.:o

And Spyro sold his soul for Skylanders. :o

Oooh, live TiVo.

Crash >>>> Spyro.
Sonic the Hedghog > Starfox.

Fanboys being weird. :p

Does Rodrigo09 not understand what an Aunt is? Its the sister of a parent. Lets break this down for him.

Aunt May is Peter's mother's sister. He is highschool age in the film. If his mother had him between 21and 25 years of age and Peter is 16 in the film then his mother would be between 37 and 41 years of age by the time of the film which means Aunt May could actually have been played by someone in their 30s.

Stop mathing. :argh: It ruins the insanity.

You're obviously not Asian.

Mmm...yeah...math.

When the Ultimate comics version is applied, May is Peter's aunt as you explained.
616 Universe (original Marvel) has Peter calling the widow of his uncle and the woman who raised him aunt, the way we call the wife of an uncle (from both sides) aunt.

In Arabic we have different words for different sides of parents siblings, so for the side of the father we call the wife of an uncle the word we use to call our aunts from the side of our mothers, even if the uncle's wife is not really the sister of a parent.

Because the post is awesome, and it needed to be said.
A spritzing of grey hair is not iconic. Well not to 99.99999999999% of the people who watch movies. Its hair. A hair color most geriatrics have. (Not that Marissa is even close to being geriatric.) Its no more iconic than wrinkles, crows feet, or a saggy wrinkled ass. As long as she isnt walking around with a bright red and lime green mohawk no one except uber-nerds will even notice or care about her hair.

And like it or not in 2015 most young women dye their grey away. So Aunt May is unlikely to have grey hair.

Huh. I always assumed May was Pete's aunt in the sense of being married to his dad's brother, rather than an actual blood relation.

Informative.

Whut... Are there people out there that don't get how Aunt May is not a blood relative of Peter's (which actually should make her devotion all the more inspirational)?

i honestly never ever thought about it until i read this tivo

Yeah but... You're a girl CC, you ain't supposed to put as much useless thought into this stuff the way us dudes do. :cwink:

But for real, to any out there... The Uncle's name was BEN PARKER. I'll let that settle in along with the inevitable consequences thereof. :sly:

Its not something I ever really gave any thought to until this "Greygate" nonsense. Ive never read any spiderman comics. I watched the cartoons when I was little, but I barely remember those. And I don't remember the previous films going into how she was related to Peter.

All that matters is she loves Peter and really thats about all that is required to label someone an aunt or uncle.
